I Was Enchanted To Meet You

"There I was again tonight

Forcing laughter, faking smiles

Same old tired, lonely place

Walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy

Vanished when I saw your face

All I can say is, it was enchanting to meet you"

Although it is super cheesy, this Taylor Swift song embodies the story of us. Joshua and I met when I was working at a restaurant where his longtime friend was my manager. As he sat across the bar waiting for his friend, we introduced ourselves and started up a conversation. Both of us were playing it coy and trying to hide our attraction from one another... but there was a definite chemistry between us.

We started hanging out as friends and as we got to know one another it became undeniable... this was the man made for me. I can remember being in a room and not being able to see anyone around us, it was just me and him. One night I knew that this was the man I wanted to marry, so much so that I made him a ring out of a paper napkin and he did for me as well. (We carried these around with us always and still have them to date. They were actually included in his proposal to me!)

Once our relationship became official a whole year past by where we were on Cloud 9. He was my Sparky and I his Little Mama! We built a life together, but something was missing. All of the excitement had worn off, and real life set in. There was a point in our relationship where we almost didn't make it... and I will never forget the pain that we both felt. We knew we loved one another, but was love enough? We both were lost and didn't know the direction we needed to go.

For months our relationship was rocky. Josh had taken a job in Charlotte and I stayed in Raleigh, but we had decided to try long distance. Ask me back then, and I would have told you it could never work, but here we are today. That distance allowed for us to grow as individuals, but most importantly to grow with God.

We have given our lives and relationship over to Jesus Christ, and through his grace we have been saved!

I truly believe that God has created us for one another, but most importantly to bring us closer to Jesus. I thank God everyday for leading me to Him, and using Joshua to do it! Josh and I have been together for almost 5 years, and we look forward to a lifetime together. We understand that there will be both highs and lows, but to answer my question... YES LOVE IS ENOUGH!!

Love is enough, because we aren't in this alone.

"13Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong. 14Do everything in love."

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

We can't wait to celebrate our love with you and to continue our story!!

"This night is sparkling

Don't you let it go

I'm wonderstruck

Blushing all the way home

I'll spend forever

Wondering if you knew

I was enchanted to meet you"

-To the man who has my whole heart
