Other Accommodations

There are many good airbnb options, we would recommend booking soon! Something near the Votivchurch would probably be the most central location.

Another fun/budget option is could be staying a monastery guest house! The Benedikthaus im Schottenstift is a beautiful historic location just a stone's throw from the Votiv church and is in the heart of the city! More info here: https://www.monasterystays.com/?d=Austria-accommodation

Getting Around

Picture of Getting Around

Car rental is not recommended as parking is difficult to find and can be quite expensive. Public transportation in Vienna is very easy, well-connected and affordable. Weekly passes are available (linked below) and day or single tickets can be purchased from machines at the airport or throughout the city.

Please note that a separate ticket is needed from the airport to the city center. More detailed tranport information available here: https://www.wien.info/en/travel-info/transport

If staying in hotel Regina or somewhere else near the center, the city is quite walkable as well.

Getting to and from Hermesvilla

Picture of Getting to and from Hermesvilla

Hermesvilla is located on a nature preserve a bit outside of the city and is about 30 minutes by car from the Votivchurch. The park has several entrance gates, please use the Lainzer Gate. The address is Hermesstraße, 1130 Vienna. You have several transportation options.

Uber is popular in Austria and is a good option for transportation, you will have no trouble calling an uber at the Votivchurch. The venue has told us that calling an uber from Hermesvilla should not be a problem when leaving in the evening, but if anyone is worried about securing a ride, you can reserve an uber in advance to pick you up from there. Taxis are another option and there are several stands near the Votiv church (one directly in front of Hotel Regina, and another at Schottengasse 6 a few minutes walk away). The taxi stand directly by Hermesvilla will also be alerted there is a wedding and have more taxis available. Public transit: For anyone who is adventurous and google maps savvy, public transport is also available and takes about an hour to get to the gate of the nature preserve. Public transit runs all through the night. Recommended rout to get there is metro lines U2 to U4, and then the 56B bus. Driving your own car is of course also possible, there is a public parking lot directly at the Lainzer Gate.

Please note: Cars are not allowed to drive into the nature preserve, so you will be dropped off at the gate. A golf cart service will then transport guests to the villa or you can choose to walk for 15 minutes through the park.
