WHEN SHOULD I PLAN TO BE IN THE TWIN CITIES?
If you are coming from out of town—Depending on what your life allows in terms of finances, free time, etc., feel free to come a few days before the celebration weekend in order to get settled and/or sightsee.
Sunday we'll enjoy the Christmas party together. Monday we'll be hosting an event for out-of-town guests at a local brewery! Friday and Saturday, we'll be hosting some private family events but otherwise, we have some flexibility.
Let us know when you are coming and where you plan to stay. We may either have suggestions for fun things to do in the area and/or be able to meet you for a quick bite to eat, depending on our schedules. If you don't even know where to start, please reach out to us and we are happy to help!
HOW SHOULD WE GET AROUND THE TWIN CITIES?
We recommend either renting a car at the airport or taking Lyft and/or Uber to get where you need to go. Public transportation in St. Paul and Minneapolis has experienced some growing pains since Covid.
WHAT ARE SOME MINNESOTA FOODS/DRINKS WE SHOULD TRY?
Cheese curds, Juicy Lucys, and hotdish are the things we like to eat and joke about! Minnesota is also home to tons of great breweries. (Urban Growler and Bauhaus are noted on our "Cool places to visit." A few other very popular ones are Surly, Indeed, and Modist..but there are so many good ones!)
Cheese curds are deep-fried cheese. You will often see them on the appetizer menu. Sometimes they are special flavors like "garlic." They can also come with sauces. Cheese curds can be kind of a heavy/hearty treat so you may consider sharing an order with a few people.

WHERE SHOULD WE STAY?
In the "Where to stay" tab, we have listed several hotels based on personal experience and recommendations. We have listed several Airbnbs based on approximate location and reviews. The festivities will take place in St. Paul but if you have always wanted to see/stay in Minneapolis, go for it. It's just the next city over!
AP's parents will be staying at The St. Paul Hotel which is an excellent choice but please reach out if you'd like some input based upon your budget and/or personal preferences.
WHY DECEMBER?
Ali loves the Christmas and thought it would to share a bit of the holiday season with her nearest and dearest. (Alex liked this idea, too!)
