Where to stay
Since our guest list is so small and several of our guests already live in the Twin Cities, we have not reserved any hotel blocks.
However, we have listed some hotels we recommend.
If you are looking to get an airbnb, suggested neighborhoods include Macalester-Groveland/Mac-Grove, Highland Park, St. Anthony Park (our neighborhood)—They are close to lots of colleges and extremely convenient if you'd like to be close to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We have listed a few good Airbnb options here as well!

The Saint Paul Hotel
This is the closest hotel to the Czech Hall that we have recommended! Ali's parents are staying here. An excellent hotel!
They have a great production of "It's a Wonderful Life" during the holiday season—A must-see show if you can make it work! Very close to "Herbie's on the Park" which is a wonderful restaurant listed on our "Cool Places to visit" page. Also close to The Ordway which will have a production of "The Little Mermaid" going on in December. The Xcel Energy Center (home of the MN Wild) is just a few blocks away.
Hampton Inn & Suites Minneapolis University Area
An affordable and convenient option! This is close to the University of Minnesota's east bank campus buildings and just a 5-min walk from an excellent grocery store we frequent called "Fresh Thyme." Also very close to O’Shaughnessy's & Malcolm Yards (both on our list of places to visit), Surly, and the Textile Center.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Minneapolis University Area

Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot
This is an excellent spot in Minneapolis. We stayed in the complex (also connected to the Residence Inn, also on this list). Close to the Mill City Museum, Open Book/MN Center for Book Arts, Guthrie Theater and lots of restaurants. It is also about an 8-min walk to Trader Joe's.
Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown at The Depot
This is an excellent spot in Minneapolis. We stayed at this hotel (also connected to the Renaissance Inn, also on this list). Our room had a kitchen in it!
Close to the Mill City Museum, Open Book/MN Center for Book Arts, Guthrie Theater and lots of restaurants. It is also about an 8-min walk to Trader Joe's. Breakfast is included!
Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District
Beautiful hotel with an excellent restaurant called Umbra—We have eaten there several times and it is delicious. It will be gorgeous for the holiday season! It is right next to a Trader Joe's and a short walk from the Mill City Museum, The Guthrie, and Open Book!
Radisson Blu Mall of America
A Mall of America hotel if you'd like to be close to the airport and/or mall. Ali has a friend who travels the country and always stays here when he comes to the Twin Cities. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent, too. It will be the holiday season so the mall will be extra busy but it is a one-stop shop for kids, especially—Amusement park, aquarium, restaurants, and more.
