Folly is our personal favorite beach. It is a more rugged, "beach bum" atmosphere with lots of fun local restaurants and dives. Chico Feo is our favorite place to grab tacos and Bert's has all the snacks and free coffee you could need! Parking is mostly street parking and can be tricky sometimes.
Sullivan's Island is close to Mount Pleasant. It's a smaller town, and the beach is clean with nice restaurants around it. Parking is mostly street parking and can be pretty tough. The Co-Op, Poe's Tavern and the Obstinate Daughter are our favorite spots to eat here.
Isle of Palms is also close to Mount Pleasant, though slightly farther from the venue than Sullivan's Island. This beach is the most family friendly by far and offers the best parking options most of which are paid, but easy to find. They also have showers and bathrooms readily available. Coconut Joe's and the Windjammer are good spots for food, snacks and drinks.
Chris and I love the relaxed atmosphere of the back patio here. It's also only a few blocks from the Cathedral! If you are looking to kill time between the wedding and the reception, we recommend stopping in for a drink.
This is a Charleston favorite, especially if you are looking for a happy hour with great oysters!
This is one of my favorite spots for date nights, it's very swanky inside and the French-inspired food is delicious! I recommend trying the Raclette burger - it's my favorite in all of Charleston.
A crowd favorite for seafood and especially shrimp po boys!
This is a more casual spot, but it is SO much fun! The BBQ is delicious, and the atmosphere is great, especially in summer. The frozen drinks are a must in the August heat.
The menu is pretty limited to burgers here, but it is the BEST burger in Charleston.
This is a great spot if you have a mixed crowd on seafood since they offer seafood options and fried chicken options, both of which are amazing! You can finish the night off with their soft-serve ice cream.
This is a really fun spot, that can get rowdy on the weekends. The views of Shem Creek are gorgeous, and the food and drinks are great. The Trash Can Nachos are a must-try!
Waterfront Park is perfect to walk along the pier and relax on the swings or to dip your toes in the famous Pineapple Fountain! It's a great place for people watching, grabbing an ice cream or Italian Ice from the shops and stands nearby or even exercising.
Rainbow Row is a Charleston classic! You can easily add it into your loop from Waterfront Park & the Pineapple Fountain on the way to the Battery!
You can walk, bike, or picnic at the battery! It's also a Charleston classic and offers beautiful water and sunset views as well as plenty of history and architecture to walk around and explore.
The park located at the battery is a great place to rest and relax under the arbor of trees.
This is a great option for those staying in Mount Pleasant and wanting to get out for a walk or jog. Beautiful water scenery from the bridge located in Old Village Mount Pleasant which showcases a lot of Charleston charm & history!
Kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board on Shem Creek! Beautiful views of the creek and often times dolphin sightings - this is a great family friendly activity for the weekend.
