Alex and I met through that romantic app called “tinder.” I was new to Gulfport and figured I’d try my luck and see what was out there. To my surprise, I saw a beautiful blonde with an amazing dog. With the swipe of a finger…we matched. And the very next day, we were on our first date.

From dinner at Lucy's, to shutting down Boogie Nights at the Hard Rock Casino, I knew I had met someone special. The first date led to the second, and the third. After meeting families and sharing the holidays together, we went through our first deployment. Alex stuck by my side and supported me with every endeavor.

I knew in my heart that this was the woman I was going to marry. She is kind, beautiful, and passionate with her work. She is someone that I knew I could grow with. She knows me more than I know myself, and I truly never thought I could love someone so much.

The best thing I ever did was "swipe right" on July 26, 2019!

Logan and I met the way a lot of millennials in the 21st century do: on a dating app! Our first conversation centered around my dog, and I quickly caught on to the fact that Mika was most likely the reason he initially swiped right. I couldn’t blame him though, because she is one cute pup. He told me that if I let him meet her, he would treat me to dinner! Mika loves meeting new people and I love free food, so it was a no-brainer ;)

Our first date was interesting, to say the least. He came to my house to pick me up. After a casual dinner and a few margaritas, I convinced him to go to Boogie Nights at the Hard Rock Casino. I was sure I scared him off with my weird dance moves, but the next day he asked me out on another date!

A year goes by filled with lots of love, laughter, and puppy snuggles with our dog, Mika. Before we knew it, we were about to experience our first deployment. I think Logan was unsure if I would be able to handle it even though I reassured him I could. About a month into deployment, I think I finally convinced him that I wasn't going anywhere.

Logan proposed on Easter Sunday at my grandmother's house in front of my family. Long story short, I found the golden egg with the most beautiful diamond ring inside! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the easiest decision I have ever made.

I can't wait to marry this man. Logan challenges me to be a better person in every way. He is patient, selfless, and probably the funniest person I know. He is my best friend.
