It might be cold. Will blankets be available?
We will only have a few blankets available so be sure bring your own blanket or warm clothes just in case! You know how vast early December weather can be in Virginia, so check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
Will alcohol be served at the reception?
We will provide minimal drinks containing alcohol. Please let the Bride or Groom know what your favorite beer or seltzer is so we can try to get what you all like! We will also provide a glass of the Bride’s favorite wine for toasts with dinner. We hope you like it sweet!
What if I have a food allergy?
Please message the Bride of any and all food allergies when RSVPing so that food accommodations can be put into place! All food will be homemade. We will also put out signs in front of each item so you know what is safe for you to eat!
Is parking available at the ceremony space?
Parking will not be available at the ceremony space for guests. We will have a shuttle going from the Stanardsville Firehouse to the ceremony space. So please be early so you aren’t left behind! There will be multiple trips to be taken back and forth! The ceremony however will start promptly at 3pm and the shuttle will not be running until the ceremony is over and guests are brought back to the Firehouse for the reception. If you are late, please do not drive yourself to the ceremony space as you will not be let in and there will be no parking available for you. You can hangout at the Firehouse if you so wish to be part of the reception! We definitely don’t want to miss any of you at the ceremony so please be on time!!! ❤️
Are kids allowed?
We please ask that only the children either personally invited or in the bridal party be brought to our wedding. We have already gone through a lot of the thought processes of this and we are so sad we can’t invite everyone due to limited space.
Can I bring a plus one?
Plus ones need to be approved by the bride and groom. We have very limited space at the ceremony space and we don’t want them to feel uncomfortable without a place to sit! We would love to keep our wedding small and intimate and would love to be around everyone we personally know. So if chances are that we don’t know them, they are not invited.
Most plus ones have also been taken into account and they are already on the guest list.
Do you have a wedding registry?
Yes! We made an Amazon Wedding Registry but just remember everything on there are all WANTS and not NEEDS. We have been living together throughout our entire relationship and have everything we need!
We have also started a honeymoon fund on The Knot website that we sent your wedding website links through! We would much rather go on a beautiful honeymoon and create wonderful memories together being newly weds!
We appreciate any and all contributions you are willing to provide! Do not be pressured to give us anything at all if you cannot afford it! We appreciate your love however you are able to give it!
Why is the wedding on a Thursday and not the weekend?
We chose to have our wedding date as the same day of our dating anniversary to make things more special for us! We are sad that the date is during the week and we understand if you are unable to make it due to work or other obligations. We just ask that you let us know well ahead of time so we can plan accordingly!
Are there any accommodations available?
Unfortunately, for our guests that are out of town, they will have to supply their own accommodations and rental themselves. We have a very limited budget and will not be able to provide hotel stays or car rentals.
Nearest hotel would be the Holiday Inn Express in Ruckersville, VA if needed. Car rentals are nearby the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport. (Airport to the hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive. Hotel to the ceremony space is also another 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.)
Can we take pictures or videos during the ceremony?
Unfortunately, during the ceremony we are asking for all guest to be “unplugged” and to refrain from taking any personal photos and videos during the ceremony. We have a wonderful photographer that will be taking photos for us! And forewarning, she has been instructed to push your phone out of the way if you decide to keep your phone out anyway!
However, we will have a special moment before the ceremony officially begins and after the bride walks down the aisle for you to capture as many photos as you can! After that we kindly ask for you to put your phones away and volume turned down so you can enjoy our special day in the moment! And please no posting on any social media platforms before we do! We greatly appreciate it!
Will there be any after parties?
We are still searching for the perfect place but will possibly go to a bar out in Harrisonburg, Va announcements will be made at the end of the night! We hope to see you there to continue the party! Please drink responsibly and make sure you have a DD or a place to stay in place beforehand!
Will changes be made regarding the weather?
The ceremony will still be outside during cold weather, light rain, or light snow. It will be moved into the Stanardsville Firehouse for heavy rain or snow. Please check the weather forecast beforehand and dress accordingly.
