Alexx and Doug were introduced by Alexx’s best friend, Dr. Madison Meek. Madison had spent months carefully orchestrating how Alexx and Doug would meet for the very first time. On May 31st 2019, Alexx was out on a first date…… with a nice gentleman who was NOT Doug! Madison starts calling Alexx’s cell phone repeatedly. Finally, Alexx answers assuming that there must be an emergency. No emergency - just Madison insisting that Alexx needs to get downtown NOW. The sweet gentleman asked if he could drive Alexx home - Alexx politely thanked him for everything and asked “actually, can you take me downtown?!” and the rest was HISTORY!

Later that August, Alexx and Doug took a weekend trip to Austin, TX together. They knew the weekend would determine the future of their relationship. On the drive back home, they knew they were meant to be together.

Doug proposed to Alexx in Houston on December 22nd 2022 and they will be married on November 18th 2023.
