We would love for you to join us in wearing our wedding colors of red, green and gold. The colors are encouraged but not required. The attire should be semi formal in nature (not holiday Christmas sweaters). Semi formal for women is normally a dress or a nice top and dress slacks or a skirt. Semi formal for men is normally a suit and tie but ties are optional. As an example, men are welcome to wear a black or navy suit with a red, green or gold tie. While Christmas colors are encouraged, we are not wanting men to wear red, green, gold or Christmas themed suits. Note that the ceremony may be on the beach so be sure to bring shoes you are comfortable wearing on the beach. You may also need a jacket depending on the weather.

It is noted on the travel tab as well, but the closest airport to Corolla is in Norfolk, VA. This can be anywhere from a 1.5 to a 2 hour drive depending on traffic and weather. Please reach out if you are flying in and would like to coordinate with others arriving within a similar timeframe. You are able to rent a car from the airport or review the transportation options from the airport to the outer banks. There are more details on the travel page.

The average high temperature in Corolla in December is 57 degrees and the low is 39 degrees. Please be prepared for cooler weather temperatures. Although it could be sunny and 70 degrees, we want everyone to be prepared.

Note that Matt & Alicia have chosen not to provide alcohol as part of their wedding festivities. We ask that the guests respect their wishes and not partake in alcohol during all wedding related events.

Matt and Alicia hope to be able to exchange vows on the beach. In the case of rain or other inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors at the Pine Island Lodge.

The lodge is three stories and there are elevators accessible on each floor. To get to the beachfront ceremony, there are a number of staircases of varying numbers of steps. If you are unable to walk to the beach, a vehicle will be available to take guests directly to the beach. Please let a member of the bridal party know if you need a ride to the beach.

Kids are invited to the wedding and will be indicated on the wedding invitation and RSVP. There will be a table for children during the reception with child friendly activities to keep them entertained.
