Mike and Alicia both grew up in Grand Island, NE and never attended the same school until high school. They were not friends in high school but somehow stood next to each other in their senior class photo. Their class had over 500 students!

Years later, Alicia saw a comment from Mike on an NFL Instagram post and decided to respond to him. He messaged her and then they started texting back and forth. Mike was living in Brighton, CO and Alicia was living in Grand Island, NE.

Alicia decided to take a trip to CO to "see her brother" but also wanted to meet Mike in person. Alicia and a friend met Mike and his friends at a bar and Alicia's brother and sister-in-law came out after the Avs game. One thing led to another and Mike and Alicia got caught kissing near the bathroom - thanks Lisle! Mike drove to GI to see Alicia 2 weeks later, then Alicia drove to CO to see Mike the following weekend for a wedding and everything became official.

There were countless trips made back and forth between CO and NE and even some halfway lunch dates. They also traveled together to Chicago, DC, Ohio, Seattle and Iowa too. Finally, Alicia moved to CO on New Years weekend going into 2023, without even knowing that Mike had already bought a ring.

Mike kept the ring until the right moment. He proposed to Alicia in front of both of their parents at Cunningham's on the Lake in Kearney, NE on June 3, 2023.

Odd coincidences that seemed like signs:

-When Mike and Alicia first met, he was living on Walnut Drive in CO and she was living on Walnut St in NE

-The last 4 digits of their phone numbers are the same, just in a different order

-They both received the same guardian angel message when one of their respective grandpa's passed away

-Although they didn't know each other personally back then, they stood next to each other during their senior class photo
