Our Wedding

Welcome to our wedding website! We are so thrilled you're here! Our love story began in Mexico at a family destination wedding that brought us together in the most unexpected way! Our shared love for adventure, staying active and seeking new challenges instantly drew us together. Over the years, Ryan very patiently has taught Alicia how to ski, water ski, play slow pitch, and snowmobile - all activities that came in handy during the pandemic! Alicia loves to try new boutique workout classes, and brings Ryan along to spin, boxing, bootcamps and orange theory. Above all else, we are best friends and our love is truly unmatched. We love to spend time together, whether it's just the two us or with our friends and family. We can't wait to celebrate our special day with all of our loved ones and create more amazing memories. Favorite (& only) younger sister of the Bride, Nicole is truly a jack of all trades and master of ALL. Not only has she beat Alicia to the alter, but she is finishing her family medicine residency July 2025 (Go Doctor Oszust!). When Nicole is on the phone, her husband can probably bet its with Alicia discussing their next workout class, coffee date, or literally anything under the sun. Nicole is Alicia’s confidente, voice of reason, and the best sister ever who doubles down as a bestie.

Holly & Alicia have been friends for longer than they haven’t! 17 years ago they met on the yellow school bus, yet became absolutely inseparable in nursing school. Since then, these two little besties are usually up to something mischievous so it is a blessing that their husband (and husband to be!) accept their sisterhood. Whether they are jetting off to Las Vegas, attempting a new cocktail recipe, getting matching tattoos and hanging loose at the lake - H & A have a grand old time together.

If Ocean is around, your cheeks will hurt from smiling and laughing because she is a true bright light and free spirit! O & A met in University in 2010, both unsure of where they wanted their careers to take them but both very sure they would be besties forever. Their twenties were full of many late nights of dancing, pizza (for breakfast, lunch and dinner), and road trips to Golden and Kelowna. Alicia had the honour of standing up for Ocean at the alter two years ago, and this year Alicia couldn’t be more blessed that roles will be reversed.

Kayla-Kelly is Alicia’s ride or die! Having met each other in nursing school, these two realized how much they had in common (and how much they both didn’t want to study!) KKB does absolutely everything with her whole heart, making her loved ones feel so so special. Alicia is so thankful for her honesty, she is the one that told her to lock Ryan down immediately! Whether they’re getting glammed to the nines for their birthdays, talking for 4+ hours on the phone or giggling in their sweatpants with Starbucks, these two can find the fun in anything!

Megan is the coolest Schmidt, and Alicia’s partner in crime, especially at family events! These two can easily get into trouble, and just as easily have a lazy day on the couch watching movies and playing board games. M & A both have a love of adventure, and are always interested in trying new things! Megan is the definition of a true sister, and quickly became one of Alicia’s best friends! Alicia is comfortable taking the Schmidt last name, knowing she will share it with Megan!

Brittany is unique in every way, and that’s exactly why Alicia loves her! With purple hair, love of rugby and creative theatrical shows, Brittany has always been true to herself and her friends! B & A met in Grade 10 either during basketball practice or science class, but either way have been attached at the hip ever since! Hopefully by the time Alicia gets married, Brittany is also engaged to Devin! (We love him, too!)

Garrett and Ryan have been friends as long as anyone can remember. They played hockey together on multiple teams, and went to Junior High and High School together. There isn't many ridiculous stories that don't involve both of them. Garrett is the most relaxed person you'll ever meet. He's always down to go on a mountain ski trip, out to the lake, or just hang out and play board games. Garrett met his finance Steph through Alicia, not long after Alicia and Ryan met.

Roman is like a second brother to Ryan and his parents, Jean and Jerry, like a second set of parents. They have been friends, hockey teammates, and lake buddies for many years. Growing up there has been countless sleepovers, road trips, and even vacations shared. It's only fitting that Roman join's Ryan on yet another great adventure

Andrew and Ryan met in High School 14 years ago. Now when these two get together, things tend to get out of hand quickly. It could be golfing, karaoke, or just an old fashion house party, you know when these two get together, it's going to be a blast. While these two haven't known each other for quite as long as some of the other groomsmen, they made up for it with some ridiculously fun times.

Kyle and Ryan met at a Halloween party just after high school. Garrett and Ryan were Maverick and Goose, and well Kyle, he was a Mexican. Since then Kyle has been a core member of Ryan's friend group. From ski trips and backyard BBQ's, to making boozy slush out at the lake Kyle's been there for it all. Pro tip, if you ever need a good deal on something, Kyle is the go to, auction house master, he can get it all.

Dillan and Ryan first met in grade 10 where they quickly became friends. Dillan is always down to hangout, it really doesn't mater what the plans are you know he will be there. He just won't let you know he's coming till he shows up. Dillan has been working out at the gym for a few years, but Ryan wants to let Dillan know that his fake muscles are still tiny and he could take him any day of the week.

Chris and Ryan also met in High School and connected quickly over their interest of board games, hockey games, and of course, video games. You can always count on Chris to have the newest and greatest board games and to spend hours on hours playing them. Chris is also Ryan's go to tech guru, whether it's hilarious sound board clips, or new game mods, Ryan would be lost with out Chris.

Tyler is another OG member of Ryan's friend group. It really doesn't matter what day of the week it is, you can usually find him out at the lake at there family cabin, which is next door to Ryan's family cabin, which is also next door to Roman's family cabin. Between Ski trips, board game nights, and tons of lake weekends Tyler is a key member of the group and essential to have a great time
