Andy and I first met shortly after graduating UNCW but while both working in real estate. With the right timing in each of our lives and a 10 year friendship, we finally went on our first official date the summer of 2014. Our relationship began to grow while friends/co-workers began to ask lots of questions. For several months we kept it a secret to see if we were a good fit. Together we made so many amazing memories and knew that our relationship was something special. Our friends weren’t even surprised when we decided to announce that they we are dating.
Fast forward several years and many memories as a party of three . . . .
On Christmas of 2018, all of the presents had been opened and wrapping paper covered the floor. We started to play with Natalie and her new dollhouse. The entire morning was captured on video but I noticed Andy trying to set up his phone to record a little bit more. I thought it was silly until Andy announced that there was one last gift to open. I turned as he held a small red box in his hand. I cried and hugged Andy tightly. I quickly snatched the box out of his hand. I was so excited that I pulled the ring out of the box and slipped it on my finger not realizing that I had stolen Andy’s thunder. It was the moment I had been waiting for. Andy asked me to marry him as Natalie watched the whole moment unfold. Natalie describes the moment "as the time my mom cried, laughed and sweated all at the same time". After Christmas when we returned home Andy also gave Natalie her own ring. It was the most perfect proposal and a Christmas we will all cherish forever.
