Poggibonsi
Poggibonsi is the closest town to the wedding venue. The website link will take you to a google maps that has identified the nearest train station, accommodations, grocery and liquor stores, dining, local attractions, and hiking trails. This list will continue to be updated with new resources.
Monteriggioni Castello
Monteriggioni is a medieval walled town in Tuscany, Italy, known for its medieval fortifications and watchtowers built in the 13th century. It is a 20 minute drive south from Poggibonsi. Spend time walking around the shops, stop for a coffee and gelato! Buy a ticket to "walk the wall" for some great views and photo opportunities.
Castellina in Chianti
One of many beautiful old castle towns in the area - we loved it here! Check out Taverna Squarcialupi for the best truffle pasta we've ever had. The commune is located 25 minutes east of Poggibonsi.
San Gimignano
San Gimignano, known as the Town of Fine Towers, is a UNESCO site known for its medieval architecture. Some of the towers can still be climbed, including the Torre Grossa which is one of the most iconic medieval towers in the area. It is 214 steps up but gives you 360 degree views of San Gimignano.
Siena
Seina is the closest major city to Poggibonsi. It is famous for its stunning architecture, including the iconic Piazza del Campo (an UNESO world heritage site).and towering Siena Cathedral (also known as the Duomo di Siena). If you like heights, climb the Torre del Mangia which is one of the tallest towers in Italy (400 steps to the top - challenge Alex to a race!) . There are only a few time slots per day, one should reserve the visit as early as possible. It cannot be done online, so the first thing after arriving in Siena is to purchase the ticket to visit the tower.
Siena is located approximately 30 minutes south of Poggibonsi.

Bike rentals are available in town. Join Alex for a ride, bring your climbing legs or rent an E-bike.
Wine Tasting
Wine tastings in Tuscany are generally by reservation only - phone ahead before you go! On May 16th, we have arranged a wine tour and tasting at Castello Di Radda in Radda in Chianti. Please reach out for more information if you are interested.
Pool!
No glass or food allowed by the pool. Please join us the day after the wedding to relax! Please note that pool towers are not available.
