We met on Halloween in 2016 at an info session for the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.

We began to get to know each other during a conference in El Paso, Texas.

We began dating in the Spring of 2017. Our first date started at the duck pond at the University of New Mexico.

In 2020, we moved to Colorado with our two dogs so that Maria could attend CU Boulder for her PhD in Chemical Engineering.

We got engaged in the summer of 2024 at the same place we started dating - the duck pond at UNM.
