What began as Jason nonchalantly scrolling through Facebook Dating profiles one random day in July 2023 soon blossomed into a full-fledged relationship that grew faster and deeper than either Allie or Jason could have imagined. Throwing aside the usual tension he often felt when meeting someone new online, Jason decided to go all in on the first truly godly woman he’d met on the app and, after matching with her, decided to ask Allie about her testimony right off the bat. Due to the fact that she had just returned from a trip to Zimbabwe and was on a visit to see family members, she forgot to respond to Jason for what he described as “an agonizing 14 days”, later on almost bragging about the fact that he actually counted the days. Allie, who was half expecting him to lose interest after such a long period of time spent waiting and half taking a chance, shared the “short version” of her testimony. To her surprise, Jason, who was beginning to assume that Allie had ghosted him, not only read the entire story, but responded to multiple aspects of it and even asked questions about it. Allie and Jason quickly realized that, due to their shared Christian faith and straightforward natures, had no reason to be apprehensive around each other and dove headlong into deepening their relationship. Allie decided to surprise Jason by driving down to meet him after work on August 31st, a move that would have scared away most guys but left Jason feeling flattered, and Jason asked Allie to be his girlfriend before they’d even left the restaurant where they met up for the first time. From there, their relationship continued to be as unconventional as it was in the beginning, but Allie and Jason wouldn’t have it any other way.
