Will and Allison connected on Bumble, a dating app, on March 29, 2019 while Will was driving through Champaign, Illinois on his way to his sister's bachelorette party in Nashville, Tennessee. Allison was in graduate school for mechanical engineering at the time. Meanwhile, Will was in school for computer science with a concentration in cybersecurity.

They met face-to-face for the first time on April 20, 2019 in downtown Naperville. On their first date, they visited Anderson's Bookshop (Allison's favorite store) and spent several hours walking along the riverwalk learning about one another.

From then on, Allison and Will knew that they had someone special and made their relationship official on May 5, 2019 and decided to commit to a long distance relationship while Allison finished graduate school. They would visit each other every other weekend and continued to learn more about one another and support each other through the trials and tribulations of their academic careers.

Allison graduated in May 2020 into the pandemic. For her graduation trip, Will took her on a tour of the national parks in Utah, including Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Capitol Reef National Park. Despite living in different households, Allison and Will continued to spend time together by going on socially distanced walks almost every day.

Allison was then offered employment by Project Farma and moved to Oceanside, California in June 2020. Will helped her moved across the country and they lived together for the summer. Due to the pandemic, Allison was unable to spend the holidays with her family and so Will came out to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas with her so that she wasn't alone.

After six months in California, Allison relocated to Summit, New Jersey in January 2021 to support a new role with Project Farma. Again, Will helped Allison pack up their apartment and move across the country. Ever the trooper, Will continued to visit Allison once a month while he was still in college.

Once again, Allison relocated for Project Farma in June 2021. This time, she moved to Maryland, which is where she and Will currently live. For a third time, Will helped Allison pack up their apartment and move to another state. He then lived with her for the rest of the summer.

Allison continued to work in Maryland while Will finished his degree in computer science. Will continued to visit Allison approximately once a month.

Will got on one knee and asked Allison for her hand in marriage and to be his partner in life in a gazebo overlooking a serene lake in Florida on October 21, 2022. This was the same location that the couple took their first trip together in August 2019.

Finally, after three years and eight months, their long distance relationship was over! Will permanently moved in with Allison on January 10, 2023. They have continued to happily live with one another for the last several months with their sassy and energetic corgi, Zelda, and their elegant and aloof tabby, Ravenclaw.
