The address for Skalakot Manor is Skálakoti, 861 Hvolsvöllur, Iceland and the coordinates are 63° 34.267' - 19° 47.702'. Drive Suðurlandsvegur (Road 1) towards the east and then take a left turn on Skálavegur (Road 246). Drive 2km on Skálavegur to the hotel.

Check-in starts at 3:00pm on June 14, 2024. Allison and Will plan on arriving between 3:30pm and 4:00pm.

The following meals will be covered as part of the wedding weekend: dinner on June 14, breakfast and dinner on June 15, and breakfast on June 16. Additionally, hot chocolate, s'mores, and other snacks will be provided by the fire pit after dinner on both June 14, 2024 and June 15, 2024.

Thank you to everyone for providing their orders for dinner the night before the wedding in advance! Providing our choices ahead of time ensures that the hotel does not waste food ensuring that they are stocked for all possible selections throughout the weekend. Allison and Will are planning on dinner beginning around 6:00pm. This will be a relaxed meal so if you are busy exploring and plan to arrive later, that is totally fine! Please just let us know so that we can communicate it to the staff of the hotel.

The ceremony is located at Íráfoss. The waterfall is located approximately 1.3 miles from the hotel. There is a small parking lot available if guests plan on driving. If guests choose to drive instead of walk to the ceremony location, we recommend that they carpool to ensure that enough space is available.

The ceremony will begin at 3:30pm and will last for approximately 30 minutes. Benches and blankets will be provided to ensure guests are comfortable.

After the ceremony, Allison and Will would like a group photo. Once the group photo has been taken, guests can proceed to the post-ceremony picnic that will be provided in lieu of a traditional happy hour. The picnic will include prosecco, local meats and cheeses, kleinur (Icelandic donuts), berries, and chocolate.

Ultimately, we want everyone attending our wedding to feel comfortable and warm! There is no specific dress code that we are requiring for our wedding; however, clothing that could be categorized as semi-formal would likely be the best match for our wedding style.

Please remember that Iceland is near the Arctic Circle so June weather means a low temperature of approximately 40F and a high temperature of approximately 60F. Depending on your state of residence, this would most likely match either autumn or winter weather. Because of the larger difference between the low and high temperatures in Iceland, as well as the wind, it is recommended to bring layers when in Iceland. This may mean a shawl, wrap, sweater, jacket, or coat. Please note that a puffer jacket or winter coat likely will not be needed. Rather, a thick sweater, peacoat or top coat should be sufficient. When deciding what to wear, please take the following into consideration: wind, weather variations, and walking to the ceremony location.

After the post-ceremony picnic, guests can return to Skalakot to freshen up before dinner, which will begin at 6:00pm. The reception will include arancini as the starter, your selected meal of salmon wellington, tenderloin, chicken ballotine, or orzotto as the entree, and either regular or flambéd ice cream for dessert.

All guests must be checked out of the hotel by 11:00am on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
