Will was born and raised in Austin but moved to Dallas in 2014 to attend Southern Methodist University (SMU), where he studied accounting. Allison moved to Dallas in 2018 to work in finance after graduating from the University of Kentucky. This was her first time living outside of the state of Kentucky after growing up in Louisville for her entire life. They both had moved to a metroplex of almost 7 million people, yet somehow ended up living just a few miles apart from one another. They were introduced to each other via a dating app that uses proximity, personal traits, and interests to help matchmake. Allison and Will matched only a few days after the Kentucky Wildcats had come up short against Auburn in the 2019 Elite 8, which is how Will broke the ice. Through the awkward beginning dating phase, COVID-19, family vacations and holidays, the Texas Ice Storm, and much more, Will and Allison have learned a lot about each other, here are a few:
- Graeter's Ice Cream is second to Blue Bell, but it's close (sorry Allison)
- Allison does not love puzzles as much as Will
- Cornhole skills are a requirement for the Corley family
- Allison can lay in the sun out by the pool longer than any other human
- You can never play too many board games. Until Will wins 10 in a row...
- Will abandons his own agenda when it comes to others, especially his dog Baker
- Will is quick to use scripture to grasp and teach others the love and grace we’ve each been given and should try to show to one another
- Allison has a beautiful heart that desires to serve others in her church, community, and friend group
During the Summer of 2020, Allison and Will went through Merge together, a pre-marital class hosted by Watermark, the church that Will attends. Upon completion of the 8-week course, they were certain that they wanted to do life together. Will asked for Allison's hand in marriage shortly after. They plan to stay in Dallas for the foreseeable future but remain attentive to the Lord and where they might be called to go and serve together in the coming years.
