If you want a taste of Kansas City BBQ (KC is know for their burnt ends):
Joe's KC BBQ
A more casual restaurant, this is where Allison and Patrick had their first in-person date when Allison was fresh off the plane. Patrick recommends the Z-Man Sandwich.
Q39
A little more pricey, this is where we take the out-of-towners. Patrick always gets the Mr. Burns sandwich, and Allison recommends the Angus Beef Brisket plate.
IN THE SUBURBS
Red Door
Patrick and Allison love the weekend brunch here- they talk about the breakfast meatloaf often- sounds weird, tastes amazing!
Strang Hall - Overland Park
A food hall with choices for everyone in one of Allison's favorite areas in the suburbs, Downtown Overland Park. There are shops to walk around, and a gelato shop next door.
Messenger
For a great cup of coffee, a pastry, and rooftop view of the city.
Cafe Ollama
A Latin American inspired coffee shop, you can got for a latte or try a coffee flight.
The City Market
A farmer's market that is open year round from 9am-3pm on Saturdays, and is a fun place to stop by international vendors and small shops (you might want to check for hours on times outside of this for the other shops).
