Our Wedding

Belvidere Park has always been a special place for Allison, who spent every summer there with her family, and enjoyed growing up with her cousins and friends. Almost ten years ago, Ryan’s family moved in—and while our parents like to say they were friends first, our own friendship closely followed. What started out as summer neighbors turned into a real friendship, and by 2019, we finally admitted we liked each other a little more than that. The first few years were spent long-distance before we eventually reunited together in Chicago. Now, it feels only right to celebrate our wedding right where it all began, in one of our most favorite places!

Where to Stay

The Geneva/Delavan lakes area is a large tourist and destination wedding location, particularly in the summer months. To secure your preferred accommodation at the best price, please book early! We suggest staying at one of the below options or looking into a VRBO or Airbnb.

BOOK SOON - ROOM BLOCK AVAILABILITY ENDS MAY 3.We suggest staying at Lake Lawn Resort as it’s only 10 minutes to the ceremony and reception locations. We have a room block available through Sunday May 3rd; after that date, there is limited resort availability outside of our room block. To make your reservation, please call (800) 338-5253 and request the discounted rate for the Pierce/McHugh Wedding Room Block. You will be asked for a deposit in the amount of a 1-night stay.&nbsp;Room options include King rooms, double queens and King suites. Note: If the block is full, it may be able to extended, depending on availability (more limited as the wedding date approaches); ask the reservation specialist or send Deb Pierce an email at dlpierce@wisc.edu for assistance.

Getting There

If you are flying in, the best way to get to there is to fly into Chicago (ORD or MDW), Milwaukee (MKE) or Madison (MSN) and rent a car. The drive from Chicago is typically a little under a 2 hour drive depending on traffic. The drive from Milwaukee is typically 1 hour, and Madison is a little over an hour. Another option is to take the Metra train from Chicago to the Harvard train station and Uber from there (the station is a 15-30 minute drive from the hotels listed above). Please note Ubers in this area are more limited, so we recommend requesting with ample time.

We’re so excited to celebrate with you at one of our favorite places! Whether you’re here just for the day or an extended weekend, we hope you can enjoy a taste of what lake life in the Geneva Lakes area has to offer. Here are a few things we recommend:

Get Outside!

A 26-mile path that loops around the whole of Geneva Lake. Even a short stroll gets you beautiful views and a peek at some stunning lakefront homes, including the Wrigley Mansion in Lake Geneva. Public parking is available at the beach areas in Fontana or Williams Bay, or on the streets of the city of Lake Geneva; you can access the walking path from there.

Lake Geneva Shore Path

The Village of Fontana Beach is located off Fontana Boulevard. Open to the public for a nominal charge from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Lifeguards are on duty.

The best way to see the entire lake. While a bit costly, the mailboat tour is a staple of Lake Geneva.
