This story began at a spring wedding. Allison got invited by her sister to be a plus one and Trent decided to attend last minute. It now appears that the two were “supposed” to go. During the reception, Allison notice Trent looking at her and smiling. She approached him in the cake line asking if they had met before. After a couple hours of talking, Trent, out of his nature, asked Allison for her number. The next Friday, Trent drove up to Zimmerman to pick her up for their first date. They had dinner at Pompeii Pizza in Elk River. Both were too nervous to eat. After dinner, they walked around Lions Park. The evening wrapped up back at the Sterneman's house with a bonfire and an awkward hug.

Trent was just finishing his first year in college while Allison was about to graduate high school. During the second date, Allison wanted to play 20 questions to get to know each other better. After the game, Trent knew this was going to be the one. Although he had not dated anyone prior to Allison, it couldn't have been more clear. She was so easy to talk to and thanks to their parents, grandparents, and God's grace they both wanted a God directed relationship. The first summer went by fast. That fall Trent moved to Wisconsin for school while Allison started her new life at the U of M. This fire burning fling quickly turned into a distance relationship.

Other than two summers this relationship has always had distance between the two. These two have made incredible memories and have been on many amazing dates during the last 4 and a half years. Many included rollerblading, hammocking, long walks, concerts, and just being outside talking. Through both joys and trials, Trent and Allison always looked to the end, where they hope to find themselves being a light with one another in this dark world. They are filled with joy to see how much God has done for us and what he has put us through, only to grow closer to him and each other. As this first chapter comes to an end, both are beyond excited to start a new one together.
