Our Wedding

Michael and I first met in 6th grade. When he transferred to Plattsmouth Middle School, everyone thought that he was the cutest boy EVER, and we all said he looked like Justin Bieber. He was a cool kid and I played trombone, so it wasn’t until high school when we really developed our friendship. He was the first one in the friend group to get his license, so he drove us all around in his first truck. From trips to Orange Leaf and road trips to basketball games, we made so many sweet and special memories during those days. One of my favorite memories is when we went to prom together as juniors, or maybe traveling to every single one of his baseball games, no matter how far.	Life took us in different directions after high school graduation, but our paths kept crossing. I think we went on about 3 first dates throughout the years. But, after reconnecting post-college, things finally clicked. I moved to Des Moines, but eventually we started dating long-distance while Michael was in Omaha. About a year later, he joined me in Des Moines—and the rest is history. These days, we love playing sand volleyball, trying new bars and restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and pestering our cat, Penny. What started as a childhood friendship has turned into a lifelong love story.	We are so incredibly grateful for the love, encouragement, and support we’ve received from our family and friends throughout our journey together. Your presence in our lives has shaped who we are and made this season even more special. Whether you’ve been there since our awkward middle school days or just recently became part of our story, thank you for celebrating with us, cheering us on, and showing up in so many meaningful ways. Our Story

Friends since daycare, with a bond that has only grown stronger over the years. Known for her generosity and humor, Delany is quick to make anyone laugh, and is always ready with a spare bed (or couch) when I need it. From uncontrollable giggles to heart-to-hearts, she’s been both the life of the party and the shoulder to cry on.

Emily is not only one of my best friends—she’s also about to be my sister-in-law, which means I officially get to keep her forever. She’s the kind of person you can be completely yourself with, unfiltered thoughts and all. We’ve had a blast planning our weddings side by side and I can’t wait for all the fun ahead—wedding celebrations, family holidays, and eventually chasing little cousins around together.

Grace has a heart as open as her door—always ready to dive into a conversation and welcome people in with a home-cooked meal and a glass of wine. Grace and I first connected as sorority sisters at NWMSU. Having both called Des Moines home for the past few years, we’ve shared countless laughs, late-night talks, and special memories together.

Addy and I met as co-workers in Des Moines and instantly bonded over our love of books and dance floors. She’s the kind of friend you can talk about anything—or sit in total silence with and still feel understood. From dancing in the living room to Justin Bieber and Mamma Mia, to placing questionable sports bets, to sharing book recs, life is always better (and more fun) with Addy.

Jess and I have known each other since elementary school and over the years, she’s become one of the most steady, loyal, and deeply caring people in my life Jess is the kind of friend you can go to with absolutely anything—no matter what’s going on, she shows up with an open heart, a listening ear, and usually a good laugh when you need it most. Her kindness and joy radiate in everything she does, and I’m so grateful for the countless memories we’ve shared and all the ones still to come.
