Right where our venue is! Walk across the pier for amazing views and/or fishing. You can typically see spinner sharks and manta rays from it. Costs $1.50 per person
Would highly recommend doing a sunset dolphin cruise while you're here! Or if you want to do sailing, this is an option as well. There are plenty of other companies that offer this, but this one was highly rated. Other popular beach activities include parasailing, paddleboarding/kayaking, water and jet ski rentals, pontoon boat rentals, and banana boating.
Fort that was active during the Civil War and later used as a jail to hold the infamous American Indian chief Geronimo. To get in, it costs $25 per car or free for military and if you have a national park pass, and you also gain access to a more private beach.
Evening or day-long excursions in LED-lighted clear kayaks. Can also rent bikes and stand-up paddle boards from this company!
Our favorite restaurants/bars on Pensacola Beach:
- Peg Leg Pete's (casual seafood + American & drinks)
- Red Fish Blue Fish (casual seafood + American & drinks)
- Flounder's (casual seafood + American & drinks with large bayside beach & beach volleyball nets)
- Crab's on the Beach (casual seafood + American & drinks beachside)
- The Dock (best bar to just grab & go on the beach)
- Whiskey Joe's (casual seafood + American & drinks and tiki hut on the bayside beach)
- Sneaky Tiki Hut (our favorite beach tiki bar, dog friendly and great drinks! This is where our welcome dinner will be!)
If you are not military to get in, make sure you have your ID and enter through West gate. Here, you can explore the Naval Aviation Museum, which sports lots of aircrafts throughout history used in each of the military services. You can also visit the Pensacola Lighthouse & Maritime Museum and climb to the top! If you are still in town on Tuesday or Wednesday, you can see the Blue Angels practice at 10 AM - just bring headphones for kids (it gets loud). These are all free!
Our resident minor league team has plenty of games in May! They are the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Tickets are typically under $30 and they offer plenty of promotions every game! TBD if they will have home games our wedding week
Palafox Pl/S Palafox Street is the heart of old historic downtown Pensacola, where you can find a variety of things to do, such as shopping at local boutiques, and eating at plenty of delicious restaurants! This is also the best street for nightlife when the sun sets. We lived here for a year :) Our favorite places to eat are Wine Bar, Angelena's, The Fish House, The Garden on Main (a food truck garden), and Khon's on Palafox. Ally's favorite stores to shop in are Indigeaux Boutique and Rusted Arrow Mercantile. Additionally, Bubba Watson owns a candy store called Bubba's Sweet Spot as he originates from the area. Our favorite bars are the Well, Perfect Plain Brewery, Old Hickory Whiskey Bar, the Kennedy, and World of Beer. There is also a market with local vendors every Saturday mornings.
