Alvaro and Irene met in 2009 while their children attended Caroline's Kids Daycare. Lala and Lance had met during daycare hours, and little did they know that they would become step siblings one day. Irene had seen a baseball picture of Alvaro posted on Caroline's wall and she just had to inquire. She was informed that Alvaro was not available, but at that point, Irene knew he was "the one" and nothing else mattered. After just a couple weeks of little flirtatious exchanges and goofy smiles, Irene had called one of her best friends (Bridget) to inform her that she had met the man she was going to marry. She said she wasn't sure what his name was because he has 3 different names and couldn't remember all of them at the time. Alvaro and Irene started dating in August of 2009 but wanted to navigate through this new love interest cautiously and wanted to ensure that they were not moving too quickly because children were involved. Nevertheless, they started to date almost immediately and found that they had more things in common other than their daycare provider. In 2019, they got engaged and planned to get married in 2020, but were convinced that their marriage plans had caused a Pandemic. When COVID hit, plans were cancelled, and essentially, they had to reschedule the date. It has been a whirlwind of many emotions, however, 15 years of dating has now led them to this day.
