The nearest airports are: Florence (40km), Pisa (115km), Bologna (120km). Although farther away, flying into Rome and taking a train to Florence is another great option.

GROUP SHUTTLE FROM FLORENCE

We will be providing GROUP transport from Florence to the Castle on Tuesday, June 3rd. There will be a very strict pick up window (aprox 2-3PM) that you must meet in order to take advantage of this. Please be sure to arrive in Florence with plenty of time.

Return transportation provided on Departure Day 6/6.

Castello di Ristonchi is 35Km from Florence center. (Around a 45 minute drive).

A rental car is the easiest and cheapest way to get around Tuscany. There is free onsite parking for all guests.

The closest train station to the Castello is Pontassieve, which can be reached from any major city in Italy. You can take the train to Pontessieve (30 mins from Florence/2 hours from Pisa/1 hours from Bologna/2.5 hours from Milan/Rome/Venice). Once you're at Pontassieve train station, you can also take the Bus 343 A Saltino Centro up the mountain and get off at stop ‘Paterno_V’ in Pelago (15 mins) and coordinate pick up from there or if you have a lot of gumption and not a lot of luggage you can take a beautiful forest walk to the castle (30 mins walk from bus stop).
