Corey and Alyssa met through highschool. They became friends through mutual friends. They were, however, dating other people at the time in highschool. Back then, they never would have thought they would be marrying each other! Fast forward 2 years after highschool graduation, they "re-met" each other through mutual friends. Corey and Alyssa reconnected about what was new in life. Hanging out and talking came very natural for the both of them. They began to hangout a lot just as friends.

After a while, Corey popped the question and asked Alyssa if she wanted to be his girlfriend. However, Alyssa was very confused because she liked Corey a lot, but did not know what she wanted in life and where she would go after graduating college. She unfortunately turned Corey down. Corey was let down and spent the night contemplating what to do next. The next day Alyssa called Corey to still ask if he wanted to go to NDSU's prom with her. Puzzled by the question after what happened Corey said yes!

Fast forward, they had a trip planned to go to Montana for Corey's family. They went together as friends and came back practically "boyfriend and girlfriend." Since Alyssa likes things to be official, they hung out a couple days later and Alyssa told Corey, "You still haven't asked me to be your girlfriend again." :) And so Corey asked and Alyssa did say "Yes" this time! April 11th, 2024 is forever a day to celebrate.

Corey finally popped the question on March 18, 2023. Corey's family won the Military Family of the Year in ND. They invited Alyssa to come with. Alyssa was very excited to get all fancy! Corey had the ring for months before, waiting for the "right time" to do it. They all went to the Heritage Center at the Capitol building to take pictures before the event. He invited Alyssa's parents to come take pictures of them as well. Figuring what more of a perfect moment to pop the question, Corey waited until him and Alyssa were the last to take pictures together!

Such a perfect day and the start of their future together!
