Red Iguana and Red Iguana 2 are some of the more popular Mexican places in town. It can get busy, but you can do reservations or take-out orders.

The Pie Pizzeria is a local chain that has some great pizza!

Crown Burger is home to the Pastrami Burger, a local favorite for those attending events at the Delta Center, it is a great local burger chain!

Spitz and Laziz are local Mediterranean chains that have great, refreshing food!

Gourmandise is a great local place, with great breakfast, brunch and lunch options (we have not been to dinner here, but we bet it is worth a try!)

The Capital Grille is a great fine dining restaurant, a popular location for lobbyists to take State Legislators during the session!

Bombara is another fantastic fine dining location, located at the bottom of the hotel Le Meridien, we love eating here when we want to spend some more on a great dining experience!

Skillets is another great breakfast/brunch spot, although we haven't tried it for lunch or dinner, we thought the food here was great and so was the staff! It can get busy, so plan accordingly!

There are also some great local bar and eats in the area, including Whiskey Street, Salt and Olive, Eva, and plenty more! (Be aware that in Utah, nobody under the age of 21 can be in an establishment which is a bar)

If you are looking to take a bit of a drive, grab a bite while out and about, or just want to try some of our other favorites, this section fits into your plans!

Bohemian Brewery is a great brewery not too far from Salt Lake City. For great German food, we recommend the 20 minute or so drive to this spot! If you like seafood, we love the Calamari here!

Hires Big H is another great local burger chain. It is a bit more on the pricey side for a burger spot, but is worth having if you want to spend a little bit more on some good, local style burgers!

The Philadelphian is an outstanding cheesesteak spot. Tyson has said it is the best cheesesteak he has ever had! It is reasonably priced, although a bit deceptively, the portions here are huge!

Miyazaki is one of the best sushi spots in the state. It is a bit pricey, but their award-winning sushi will prove worth it if you are up to spend a bit more!

Root'd Cafe is a great spot for breakfast and brunch, with wide selections that even those who don't enjoy breakfast food can get something they like

The Tiburon is one of our favorite fine dining restaurants. The staff here is excellent, and the food is always good. Get a full four course meal here, is our recommendation, and definitely try out their lamb tenderloin!

La Caille is another great fine dining spot, with an excellent selection of cocktails and a beautiful atmosphere, we think if you are up for the price, this place is worth the go!

If you are staying or wanting to go a bit north, or just really want to go to some of our favorite recommendations, these are some spots we love that we have grown up around!

Burger Bar has been featured on the food network, with exotic meats, great local burgers, and great prices, this place is a staple of Northern Utah!

Hearth on 25th is a great spot in Ogden, which is a city worth visiting! If you are up for some great fine dining with a range of options and great chef experiences, we recommend hitting Hearth on 25th.

Table 25 is another Ogden and 25th Street favorite. This bordering on fine dining restaurant doesn't have a bad dish, and can make foods that are not quite your favorite, have an exception. Top notch staff, and a great location near lots of other activities!

Roosters is another favorite local restaurant, and although there is one in Layton, we recommend the location on, you guessed it, 25th Street. Great American brewery food here, and another local staple.

Tona Sushi, thought we were done with 25th street? Nope! Tona is another one of the top sushi spots in the state, with exotic and unique apps, a great environment, and in a great location, we recommend getting your sushi fix here if you're willing to pay for high quality

There are multiple Hug Hes Cafe locations, and we have never had a bad experience at one! A growing "new-american" style local chain, we recommend this for a casual spot for some food!

Into sushi but hate the price of high end locations? Tyson is the same way. To solve this predicament, we recommend either of two Japanese Wasabi locations, in Roy and Ogden.

Goodwood Barbecue is a great location in Riverdale, with lots to do nearby, and some of the better BBQ in the state, come here to get your fix!

Weller's Bistro is another great German spot, in Layton this place has great food. It is a small and quaint, yet a bit crowded atmosphere, but the food is well worth it!

Hook & Reel in Layton is a great Cajun-style place for seafood boils! A fun atmosphere and a fun activity itself this place is a memory in the making!

Taste of India is a great place for a fix for Indian food. In Layton, they have a great selection of Indian flavors, and a great location!
