Our Wedding

Kyle and Alyssa met the good old fashion way.. on Tinder! As they say the rest is history! In October 2023, Alyssa accompanied Kyle, after much convincing on Kyle’s part, on a work trip to Montreal. There he took Alyssa on date day to the Biodome, and in front of the capybaras under a waterfall, Kyle asked Alyssa to marry him! The surprises kept coming as when they arrived at Alyssa’s grandparents house, not only were her parents and brother there but Kyle’s parents had flown in from Seattle. The celebrations continued at Brittany, George and Cynthia’s, with the rest of Alyssa's family, friends, and Kyle's aunt and uncle who had driven in from Ottawa. George, Brittany and Cynthia served an amazing sit down dinner, with great food, lots of laughs and an abundance of love. After spending 4 years in Squamish together building their empire, Kyle and Alyssa bought their first house together in Parksville on Vancouver Island in December 2023 and have been working ever since to turn it into their dream home. They are so excited to have everyone join them in their slice of paradise and can't wait share it with you.

It is the same building the reception will be held and only a short walk to the Gazebo from there. The ceremony will be begin at 2:30 so please arrive between 1:55 – 2:15

4:30pm-11pm Tigh-Na-Mara Resort in the Grand Moriarty RoomThis is a short walk back towards the main parking lot from the Oceanside Gazebo. Cocktail Attire Please join us for dinner, drinks, dancing and more!

Wedding Itinerary

We couldn’t resist one more chance to gather all our favorite people together again! We’d love for you to join us for coffee, desserts, and great company. It will also be a wonderful opportunity for everyone to explore our home and property. Airports

You can fly into one of three airports: Nanaimo, Comox, or Victoria (if you are looking to see more of the Island)

BC Ferries

You have the option to walk on or drive on the ferry if you are coming from Vancouver: -&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) to Departure Bay (Nanaimo) -&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Tsawwassen (Vancouver) to Duke Point (Nanaimo) or Swartz Bay (Victoria – if you want to see more of the Island as is it a 2 hour drive up to Parksville) ***If you are driving, we would recommend making a reservation or you could be stuck waiting in line for a very long time!***

Hullo Ferry

This is a faster option at 1h15 mins, but it is a passenger ferry only so no cars! Easy to access from YVR if you don’t have a car and will drop you off in Nanaimo. If you have any travel questions or want some advice on the best way for you to get here, please feel free to reach out, we are always happy to help out!

Travel

In an old train station, you can find the cutest little pottery shop! Full of pieces from locals at very reasonable prices.

Arrowsmith Potter's Guild

Cute little board walk on the beach, beach volleyball courts and beach access. There are often food trucks hanging around too.

Parksville Beaches

Trails along the beach, that allow for beach access. Very accessible path.

Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park

Cathedral GroveIf you are making your way over to Tofino and even if you aren’t it is worth the drive. Walk through some of the oldest and tallest trees in Canada. Explore the 800-year-old Douglas Fir, Grand Firs, Western Hemlocks and Western Red Cedar trees. Be careful when crossing the street around there.

MacMillan Provincial Park

Treat yourself to a luxurious spa day, including a mineral pool, whirlpool, cold waterfall, cedar barrel saunas, garden patio seating and a relaxation lounge. They provide you with robes, towels, and sandals, as well as hydration station. Would 10/10 recommend if you are looking for a relaxing activity. If you’re feeling really bad, book yourself in for the Tree Top Tapas after, you won’t regret it, but you will roll out of there!&nbsp;

Grotto Spa At Tigh-Na-Mara

Vancouver Island has the highest concentration of caves in North America and more explored limestone caves than in all other Canadian Provines combined. There are over 1200 km2 of caved feature to explore. If you are feeling adventurous take a guided tour ranging in length and difficulty. Check out the website for bookings and to find out more!

Horne Lake Caves Regional Park

Great breads and pastries located a short distance away from Parksville. Qualicum Beach is a cute little town to check out, with book stores, clothing stops and bakeries.&nbsp;

L'îlette Boulangerie

The Wildlife Recovery Center is a non-profit facility that cares for ill, injured or orphaned wildlife. Check out the eagles, owls, turtles and bears!

North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre

An absolute must stop! Not only are there actually goats on the roof but there are fresh donuts, ice cream. A great whimsical stop to make on the tour. Make sure to walk all the way up the street past the fruit market and Italian restaurants to the goat’s pen in the back and you can pet them! Check out the wood carvings, very eccentric and larger than life! There is tons of stuff to check out around here from the locals potters and thrift store across the bridge to the mushroom shop and Dutch candy store down the opposite way. You can definitely spend lots of time here.&nbsp;

Old Country Market - Goats on Roof

Great fish and chips right on the ocean. Be sure to try a Pineapple Dole Whip for dessert!
