While our wedding last December only lasted 7 minutes we've talked with our officiant and asked that he elaborate further. We'll also be writing and exchanging vows. Possibly even exchange "real" metal wedding rings. Long story short, I tried to cast the rings too close to the wedding date for the inevitable "oops" that occurred to try another time. So for now we have been making due with silicone rings which I personally like, but for some reason they aren't socially acceptable as a long term solution. We hope that the event takes longer than it took to read this text box, but not so long that you could cook a brisket.
Dinner
Saturday, August 31, 2024
5:00 PM–5:45 PM
Attire: "Clothes" - Thomas Long
While we haven't finalized the menu, we have been tossing around the idea of grilled chicken, potato salad, watermelon, sweet corn, pasta salad, and "beverage of choice". Alyssa has informed me that we will be offering another meat choice as well, but what exactly that is is currently still up in the air, send suggestions. (Last updated 15FEB2024)
Live Music
Saturday, August 31, 2024
7:30 PM–9:30 PM
Attire: "Clothes" - Thomas Long
If you read through our "How we met" story elsewhere on the website you'll know that our friends Lauren and Atticus set us up (Thanks you two). Atticus is in a band called "Betty Fight" which is currently a cover band specializing in Hard Rock and Metal. We're working with them to come up with a two part set, the first of which we hope will be family friendly followed by a ~20 minute intermission and a less family friendly (PG-13) set with more agressive lyrics and playing style (see the above about Metal and Hard Rock music if you want an idea). We are very excited to host them and will have a tip jar in front of the stage should you feel inclined to throw some money their way. We hope you enjoy the experience as much as we will. Party On Garth.
Campfire
Saturday, August 31, 2024
8:30 PM–12:00 AM
Attire: "Clothes" - Thomas Long
For some reason, there wasn't an option for "Dusk" in the start time but that's when we were hoping to have a campfire of a reasonable size for people to roast marshmallows (possibly hot dogs) and kibitz with each other. This will hopefully coincide with the intermission of the band providing an avenue for smaller children to continue to enjoy the event.
