Amanda and Ethan met during orientation week of pharmacy school. Amanda loves telling her version of the story, which goes a little something like this:

Ethan and Amanda were standing in line at the Ohio State College of Pharmacy to notarize some documents needed to start classes. The notary needed our driver's licenses, and when Amanda gave her license, the notary said "Oh another one from Michigan. We have a lot of you guys here." Ethan (who was standing behind Amanda in line) then kindly replied "Go back where you came from!" in a cheery, light-hearted, completely joking kind of way. Amanda did not see it this way and immediately labeled him as the jerk of the class that she would be sure to stay away from.

Despite her initial impression, Amanda and Ethan became fast friends, going to trivia nights, watching Monday night football, and after a year of friendship, they admitted that they had stronger feelings for each other and embarked into relationship territory.

Their relationship continued to grow as Amanda and Ethan finished pharmacy school, moved to Louisville, got a cat (Leo), and started and finished a year of pharmacy residency. They now reside in Louisville, Kentucky where Amanda is completing a second year of pharmacy residency and Ethan is a clinical pharmacist.

Ethan: April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.

Amanda: A digital photo frame loaded with pictures of us.

Ethan: My birthday 2014. Amanda made me a homemade crab stuffed filet with peppercorn sauce. Still one of my favorite meals to date!

Favorite Meal We’ve Made Together:

Amanda: Homemade lobster ravioli and creme brulee. The pasta was too thick and didn't cook right and we didn't have a way to caramelize sugar on the creme brulee, but it still tasted great and it was a ton of fun!

Ethan: Homemade pork potstickers. It took a while but they turned out great!

One of the first things Ethan and Amanda bonded over was their mutual love of classic Disney movies.  Though slightly cliché and cheesy, Ethan always thought it would be perfect to propose to Amanda at Disneyworld.  Luckily for him, both he and Amanda were going to a pharmacy conference in Orlando during their residency years and both had full intentions of visiting Disney while there.  Fast forward to December of 2017 and Ethan was traveling with Amanda to Orlando with an engagement ring in his pocket.  The night before they were planning on visiting the Magic Kingdom, Ethan confided in one of Amanda's co-workers who would be going with them to the park the next day about his plans and she was able to help him sneak the ring in without Amanda knowing as well as help to take LOTS of pictures.  As soon as they got into the park, Ethan asked Amanda to take a picture in front of Cinderella's castle, and at that time, he got down on one knee and the rest is history.
