Our favorite places to watch the launch are Space View Park, Kennedy Point Park, and the Space Bar in Titusville. But any tall area or spot near the water will give you a great view! If you’re close enough, you’ll hear the rumble of the engines!
Opened in 1992, this small museum features the finds of a well-known Floridian treasure hunter. The gold items he discovered at local shipwrecks are on display here. The museum is open Mon-Sat 10-5 and Sunday 12-5.
Mel Fisher began his full-time treasure hunting career in 1963, just south of Brevard county in Vero Beach. Mel spent the next 6 years successfully salvaging the 1715 Fleet, a fleet of sunken treasure-laden ships that sank off the coast near Vero Beach, which is why the area got the name, "Florida's Treasure Coast". Amanda grew up on the Treasure Coast. After salvaging the 1715 Fleet, Mel Fisher moved to the Florida Keys, and spent 16 years searching for and discovering the main pile of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha in July of 1985. This is still considered the largest underwater treasure find in history.
If you're a diehard birder, you can bring your strongest binoculars to NW Haulover Rd, Titusville, FL 32796 (28.73082° N, 80.76107° W) and you may be able to glimpse the flock of flamingos that was swept to our area in a storm in 2023. Amanda does manatee photo-identification nearby and we have loved seeing this beautiful species finally return to their native Florida.
The bride's brother and mother went skydiving here in December 2023 - they definitely recommend it if you're looking to add some adrenaline to the Bovan wedding weekend!

The Nation’s most historic refuge offers an array of recreation opportunities for birders, nature photographers and other outdoors enthusiasts. Two 3-mile loop trails around managed salt marsh and mangrove habitats as well as our newest Wildlife Trail give a taste of the refuge’s habitats and wildlife. The easy ¾-mile Centennial walking trail offers views of Centennial Pond and culminates in a 500-foot Americans with Disabilities Act accessible observation tower and boardwalk with a view of Pelican Island proper, located in the middle of the Indian River Lagoon.
Fall through spring are considered the best time of year to see the famous residents of Pelican Island, including the migratory white pelicans as well as nesting brown pelicans. For history buffs, there are informational signs along the trails, detailing the story of the Nation’s First Wildlife Refuge, and the people who started it all.
If you're only planning to add on one fun side quest to the Bovan wedding weekend, it should be the Kennedy Space Center!
Amanda grew up on the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River, and she watched the space shuttle launches from all over the state. The exhibits here are amazing, and you can easily spend the day exploring. Don't miss the Apollo/Saturn V Center!
