Our Wedding

The story starts almost a decade ago on a rocky dirt path in the middle of Huntingdon, PA when Joe and Amanda met at Juniata College’s&nbsp;freshman orientation. Amanda was spitting sunflower seeds off the path while Joe, having never experienced the wonders&nbsp;of a country girl, laughed and happily continued supplying the seeds.&nbsp; Fast forward four years and Joe sent a message to Amanda asking if she still had pizza left over from a chemistry event (that he did not attend). While there was unfortunately no pizza left, from that simple interaction on they were inseparable.&nbsp; After undergrad, Amanda moved to Bala Cynwyd (just outside Philly) for graduate school, and Joe moved back home conveniently only a short train ride away. By the following January, Joe moved in with Amanda, they they adopted their doghter, Lola, and officially started this journey together. The next couple years were a busy time with Amanda moving to Antigua for medical school and Joe traveling the world for his career.&nbsp;Three years later the two of them moved to Miami so Amanda could continue her journey to become a doctor. Joe meticulously planned a “surprise” anniversary trip to Bimini (a Bahamian island) where he popped the question surrounded by some of their closest their Miami friends. We could not be more excited to continue this journey together and celebrate it all with you.

I am Kayla, the bride’s big sister!  Over the last 3 years, my baby sister became my best friend and now I get to see her marry her best friend.  When I met Joe, I knew that he was the perfect fit for her.  After graduating from PITT, I moved to Erie for pharmacy school and made Erie home.  I am a geriatric pharmacist, dog momma and new human momma to the Head of Ring Security.  I am so happy for Amanda and Joe, and cannot wait to see where their crazy life takes them!

Kayla Logue

I was actually friends with Joe before I was friends with Amanda …. But being one of about 8 biochem majors in college we became friends quick. Fast forward ten years and there’s nothing we haven’t done together; we’ve laughed, cried, traveled, been stupid, fell in love, and learned so much. But the most importantly we’ve found each other. She’s more than my best friend, she gets me the way no one else can and pushes to me always be better while letting me to be myself. She’s my other half, my person, my twin. ❤️

Chelsea Biefeld

I am Grace, Joe's little sister! I have been so lucky to look up to Joe my entire life. Despite the absolute torture and stress I know his three younger siblings put him through, Joe has always been the most dependable, loving, and supportive oldest brother. I thought I had lucked out to the max with my siblings until Amanda came into Joe's life - then the luck maxed right out through the roof. It has been my favorite thing in the world to watch them build their life together. I went from meeting Amanda for the first time at Juniata College to staying with them years later in their house in Miami. They are two of the most caring, wonderful people I know, and I can't wait to stand by their sides when they get married. Yay, Joe and Amanda!! I love you both so so much.

Grace Potkovac

Hi I’m Ellie, the youngest sister of the groom! I’m honored to be supporting Joe and Amanda on their big day, and I can’t believe the time is already here! It seems like just yesterday I was calling Joe for help with math homework and met Amanda for the first time. They are the strongest, most supportive people I know, and I can’t wait to watch them take on the world together! Love you both so much!!

Ellie Potkovac

Amanda and I met during our time at PCOM. We bonded over our mutual love for Lola Bear and of forensics. Lots of study dates, game nights, and PCOM family holidays later we became the best of friends. Amanda moved to Antigua and me to NC but thanks to many “family FaceTimes” with Molly, we remained great friends. Our favorite things to do are bringing our pups to the dog park for puppy play dates and go on “romantic” hiking trips together. When I got married, there was no doubt that Amanda would be there to help me down the aisle. Now it’s my turn and I can’t wait.

Kendra Kilkenny

Amanda and I met through Kendra during our time at PCOM. We soon realized how much we had in common, some of which being that we are both the younger sister, and our connection to Erie, PA. I grew up in Erie, and my husband attended LECOM for medical school. It was quickly discovered that Amanda's sister also went to LECOM and lives in Erie! Amanda moved abroad, and with many "family" group chats and FaceTimes with Kendra, we stayed close. We both enjoy loving on Lola Bear (while Lola "polishes" Jim's head) and talking gluten free meals. Amanda did everything she could to make it to my (COVID-safe) wedding in 2020, and now I get to return that love and stand up with her when she marries her perfect match.

Molly Wright 

I first met Amanda while we were both living in Antigua for medical school. At the beginning, I never would have imagined the friendship that we would one day have. Fast forward just a few years later, and I couldn’t picture my day-to-day without our constant texts, facetimes, and get togethers with our little Miami family. In a short amount of time, we have developed a friendship that holds a huge place in my heart. I am forever grateful for Amanda and Joe becoming not only my best friends, but family to me. I am already counting down to the day where I get to stand by their side as they say “I do!”

Abby Dawes

Bridesmaid Emily Whiting here! I am so excited to be a part of this bridal party! I am originally from Massachusetts but have most recently lived four years in Antigua. I am a middle school reading teacher and have loved my time in Miami so far. Amanda and I met almost a year ago at a quaint restaurant in northern Miami. Although I had been a part of a friend group full of medical students prior to this evening, it was love at first sight. I hit it off immediately with Amanda and both she and Joe are such an important part to my Miami family now. Both my husband and I have loved getting to know the two of them and we are so excited to be a part of their special day!

Hey guys! My name is Ruby Hopkins and I have the honor of being Joe and Amanda’s officiant! I am originally from a smalltown in Mississippi and just recently celebrated my own wedding! I met Amanda in Antigua in 2019 and we immediately hit it off. Unfortunately, our time on the island was cut short with the pandemic starting in 2020, but we became closer than ever when we started our third year in Miami which ended is us all being housemates! I love these two people dearly and I cannot wait to celebrate them! 

Ruby Hopkins

Hello I am Jake/Jacob Potkovac, Joes “little” brother and best man. Being chosen as best man is such an honor for me. From our younger years of keeping him safe from bullies, to teaching him how to hit a baseball and play call of duty I have truly had a front row seat to his growth as a person. When I was starting to lose all hope on him, thankfully, Amanda came into his life. She immediately  relieved a weight from my shoulders as from the day I met her I knew she would be the one who could keep my brother in his place. She slid right in to our wacky cohort of a family with ease never seen before and I’m very happy to say she is now stuck with not just joe but all of us. Congrats to Joe and Amanda I can’t wait for your big day! Love you guys and again congratulations.

Hello everyone! Im Brandon Jasuta.  I’m so excited to be apart of Joe and Amanda’s wedding. I met Joe through mutual friends and he quickly became a huge presence in my life. From working together, countless late nights ending in Wawa trips, Florida vacays and our passion for the Eagles, we formed a brotherly love.  Having moved to Florida several years ago, I was so happy to find out Joe was moving to Miami. Although he’s not as close as I’d like him to be, we still find the time to attend Philly sports events and enjoy Floridas beautiful beaches. Joe and Amanda are two of the smartest, most caring individuals I know-  not to mention the best dog parents Lola could ask for. It’s safe to say I share some of my best memories with Joe, and I couldn’t be more grateful to call him my best friend. I wish nothing but love and happiest in this life long journey of marriage!

Hey y'all, my name is Jamey Messing, better known as jmess8809. I met Joe in early middle school/ Highschool and I thought he was a loser, no lie. He turned out to be hands down the smartest person I know. He’s taught me so much and I’m forever in his debt. This guy will have your back in any situation - I’ve seen him launch a human 7 feet to protect his family. It’s really rare for such an inspiring, intelligent, friend and brother to come along and I'm glad to call Joe one of my best friends! I loved growing up and having the time of my life from sports, video games (which after a decade he still isn’t good at), hanging at my house (usually ending with late night Wawa and sleepovers), swimming, freestyling, basketball, jumping off the roof, with my best friends and cousins. Talking about anything our middle school and high school imaginations could think of. Senior week, Air bnbs - through it all Joe P #79 has had one of the biggest hearts. It’s truly inspirational and an honor to have someone I can call a brother. I truly am grateful this balding wholesome man is my family and moving on to another beautiful family with Amanda. I hope Joe and Amanda have the best life they can live <3

Hello everyone! My name is Colton Pyne and I am absolutely thrilled to be part of Joe’s special day as one of his groomsmen. Our journey together began way back in middle school, and little did we know that our friendship would grow into something so strong. We became fast friends, bonding over a shared passion for sports, especially football. Our love for the game brought us together, and we've been bros ever since. From endless pickup tackle football games in the park to playing for our school team, we cheered each other on, pushed each other to do better, and celebrated every victory and triumph together. Throughout the years we’ve created countless memories - jamming to Biggie Smalls in the mini van and chilling at the boys and girls club to Jamey’s, and Florida trips L F G

Colton Pyne

Hi everyone, I'm Brendan!! As you can see from the picture, I now play for the 76ers, but met Joe wayyyyy back in middle school. We had a rough start to our decade plus long brotherhood, but after I got over the dent he put in my chest we developed a strong friend ship filled with too many good memories and laughs to put into words. It's been a pleasure considering Joe a brother and looking forward to adding a sister to the family!! 

Brendan Rhodes

Hi everyone, I’m Jim. Joe and I met through Amanda, a classmate and mutual friend, after being invited to their home for a Memorial Day celebration in 2021. Since then we’ve become fast friends, collectively providing testosterone the Miami medical student friend group desperately needed. Between splitting buckets of beer at Bryson’s, building fires, and lounging on the beach Joe gradually coerced me into supporting the Eagles, so long as the Patriots aren’t involved. He has really been a great teacher to me, demonstrating how to properly hold the flashlight while he grills and why we can’t fill the citronella tiki torches with regular lighter fluid. In all seriousness I am both grateful and proud to be a part of this wedding and to support the union of two so fundamentally kind, welcoming, and caring individuals.

 I had the opportunity of meeting Joe during our college years when we were very mature housemates/roommates for 3 years. Those were truly unforgettable times, which developed into a strong friendship. I was able to witness the beginning of Amanda and Joe's life journey and can’t be grateful enough to be part of this celebration. Cheers!

Gerardo Sanchez

I’m Parker, Head of Ring Security and the bride’s nephew.  I will be 16 months old and have two fur brothers, Oakley and Tucker.  When I met my Auntie A for the first time I knew she was going to be my best friend, and Uncle Joe and I are already drinking buddies (I have a onesie to prove it).  He’s more of an IPA guy, while I prefer a milk stout (usually 4-5 oz every 3-4 hours).  I am going to try to keep my cuteness to a minimum so I don’t steal all attention from my pretty Auntie.  


Parker Logue

Hewo, I’m Lola.  I am the flower girl and dog of honor (if you know me, you know that I wouldn’t have it any other way).  I am a princess who loves pup cups, munchkins, the occasional full sized donut, and chimiken (even though I’m allergic).  My hoomans let me chase lizards and also give me anything I ask for which makes dem the very best hoomans.  I am very excited to help mawm and dad get married (oh and for da cake, lots of cake).

I’m Chris! Father to Parker and husband of Kayla. 

I’ve had the immense pleasure of knowing Amanda for 11ish years - and as of 2019 have had the privilege of legally calling her my sister-in-law! During the initial phases of the pandemic Kayla and I were able to have Amanda as our long term guest until the world calmed a bit. Oddly enough, those were some of the best times we’ve had in this house! You’ve got a heart of gold, lady! Oh and rent’s due!!

I first met Joe during their graduation from Juniata. While brief, I knew the kid was a DAWG! In all seriousness though, I can say without a single doubt that Joe is the most selfless, caring human on the face of the earth. Incredible gambler, too! 

Seeing you two grow together, relying on each other has been awesome. That being said, the glue that holds the foundation together is Lola!

Myself, Kayla and especially Parker are so dang lucky to have you both in our lives!

﻿Is there a dress code? Yes! We ask that you celebrate in style with us in cocktail attire. *Please no jeans or denim pants* You can wear any color you like, but we kindly request you do not wear white or any similar color. The bridesmaids are wearing light blue.     Are you registered? Where? We are registered on Amazon. We kindly request if you are purchasing a gift to have it delivered to our home address in Florida.     What time should I arrive at the ceremony? The ceremony starts at 4:00pm. Please plan to be there by 3:45pm at the latest.     Is there parking for the ceremony or reception? Yes! The venue has a large parking lot that will accommodate everyone.     Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony? Officially no. But there will be Ubers available. Please be responsible and plan to get home safely.     Will there be an open bar? Yes. Wine, beer and liquor will be provided. Please drink responsibly and get home safely.     Can we meet up with the wedding guests on Friday night? Yes, there will be a designated location to meet up with the bride and groom the night before. Stay tuned for details!     Is the wedding outside? Yes! The ceremony is outside and the reception will be indoors. Feel free to bring a jacket to enjoy the fire pit during the reception.     Are kids welcome? Invitations will be specific and will include the names of children who are invited. We encourage you to use this evening as a night out for yourself!     Can I bring a date? If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Due to planning purposes, we can only accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.     What should I do if I cannot make it? You will be dearly missed! Please RSVP no so we can plan accordingly. If it is after RSVPs are due, please text the Bride or Groom ASAP.     Is the Venue wheelchair accessible? Yes! A golf cart can bring you from the parking lot to the ceremony space and there is wheelchair access to the reception space.
