Our Wedding

• How We Met •

Both had gone out with friends to a bar called Kilkenny’s in Downtown Traverse City. Amanda noticed Dallas throughout the night and eventually walked up to him and started a conversation. Amanda’s friends were leaving to go to another bar so she had suggested to Dallas to meet her there. Dallas convinced his friends to go there where they all met up again. It was a night of fun, laughter, comfort, and growing love that has continued ever since!

• First Date •

We had planned to go to the local Drive-In theater, The Cherry Bowl (July 22nd) the following weekend, but turns out we could not wait that long and ended up going to Olive Garden a couple days later (July 17th) as well beforehand.

•Made It Official•

After Amanda came home from a week long work trip, we made it official and became a couple. From there, we told and met each others’ friends and family and our lives intertwined

• The Proposal •

We went on a walk on the Craig Family Farm with Amanda’s parents and brother. As we walked and drove from spot to spot, the nerves got to Dallas and the moment did not feel quite right. Until we got a little ahead of the family and journeyed off on our own, Dallas tapped on Amanda’s shoulder and got down on one knee. It was later realized that out of surprise, Amanda had dropped the morel she was carrying. It was windy, beautiful, and sprinkled with a little awkwardness that is fitting just for us.

Amanda’s best friend since childhood. Michelle and Amanda have known each other since as long as they can remember. They grew up next door to each other and became apart of each other’s families, like sisters, over the years.

Amanda’s “Big” in her college sorority. Rachel and Amanda became very close in college and ended up living together for two years. When one celebrates a life achievement, the other is there to celebrate too

Alex and Amanda met while assisting the Michigan State Wrestling Team. They became close fast and have gone on many amazing adventures together ever since. Although far apart, they always have each other’s backs

One of Amanda’s cousins. They are closer in age and often spent time together at family events. Throughout the years, they celebrated, cried, and laughed together through hard times and good times. They had many girl nights together when they got older

Brienna Pline

One of Amanda’s cousins. They are quite close emotionally and have leaned on each other over the years. Lynnsilee is a person Amanda often turned to for advice. They used to have weekly dinners together when they lived close 

Lynnsilee Alvera 

Dana interned with the Prosecutor’s Office Amanda works for. They bonded and have become close friends. She was there the night Amanda and Dallas met and has watched their journey together.

Shelby was one of Amanda’s first friends when she moved to Benzie. They got along really well from the start, and their long chats have continued ever since!

Shelby Thayer

Amanda and Beth went to the same church growing up. When Amanda was in college, she reconnected with Beth and have kept in touch ever since. They enjoy going book shopping together and eating out.

One of Amanda’s cousins. Growing up, they had many sleepovers together. Their favorite movie they would watch together almost every sleepover was The A-Team. Elise always has fun and creative activity ideas

Groom’s Men

Gavynn and Dallas have known each other basically their whole lives. They’ve always been friends. But became closer towards the end of high school. They must have 6 million hours talking together on discord. 

Gavyn Newton

Jeff and Dallas went to high school together. They became closer after powerlifting, and eventually even lived together for a while. Jeff has always benched more than Dallas and that motivates him. 

Jeff Joyce

Amanda’s younger brother. Growing up, Amanda and Ethan were best friends, always supporting and pushing each other. He moved up north shortly after she did. He approved of Dallas very quickly and they became friends.

Ethan Craig

Jacob is a lifelong friend of Dallas. Him and Dallas spent their time growing up together enjoying four square and RuneScape. They have been like brothers for as long as memory serves.

Jacob Luchenbill

Dylan is Dallas’ older brother closest in age. The 5 year age gap was a little hard to navigate in grade school, but as they both got older, they grew closer. Dylan gave Dallas a lot of helpful advice over the years and was always willing to pull him aside to have a talk or set him on a better path, just not when there’s $20 and 24oz Tangerine Space Machine IPA chug on the line.

Will and Dallas became close friends through Jeff. All three have bonded over Verndansk, UFC and their love for exquisite beer (Michelob Ultra)

One of Dallas’s nieces. She is very active and growing up quickly. She has enjoyed having girls nights with Amanda

One of Dallas’s nephews. He is very kind and creative. He enjoys spending quality time with Dallas and Amanda.

Jaxson Diller

Although she is not a child and very much an adult, she is Dallas’s niece and they grew up together. Amanda and her have gotten close over the last few years as well. 

Brooklynn Diller

Amanda’s nephew and honestly one of her best friends. They love playing video games together and he shares his love of Pokemon with Dallas. 

Carter Near

One of Dallas’s nephews. He gives the best hugs and is so loving to anyone who meets him. He often threatens to beat up Dallas for Amanda

Jacob Cyr

One of Dallas’s nephews. He is quite fond of Dallas and is his lil buddy whenever they get together. He also shares the love of Pokemon

Silas Cary

One of Dallas’s nieces. She has grown quite attached to Amanda and they often play games together whenever visiting one another. 

Sydney Cary

One of Amanda’s young cousins. She is very sweet and enjoys talking to and spending time with Dallas and Amanda

Nadia Alvera

The three young boy cousins of Amanda. They each are so sweet and loving and we just had to include their adorable faces too in our crew

Semi-Formal

• The wedding colors include browns, greens, light blue, and yellow. You are more than welcome to wear something within the color scheme or whatever else you feel your best in. Naturally, we ask that guests don’t wear white and leave that to the Bride and Groom.

• Due to the wedding being in Mid-July, we expect the weather to be quite hot. The venue has a lake, beach, and forest. The ceremony is outside, but the reception is in a hall on the grounds with air conditioning. We ask that you keep this in mind to find something comfortable yet appropriate.
