If you're wanting to be right in the midst of the hustle and bustle, bar hop along Broadway for live country music and dancing! Some of our favorite bars on Broadway are Jason Aldean's rooftop, Honky Tonk Central, Kid Rock's Honky Tonk, and the rooftop at FGL House.
Yeehaw brewery is another favorite of ours, which is a quick 5 minute drive from the Broadway strip. Hangout at the indoor/outdoor brewery with yard games, live music, and Ole Smokey Moonshine. Do the moonshine tasting if you dare!
Adjacent to the Honky Tonk bars on Broadway is an area called Fifth + Broadway, which includes retail shops, restaurants, and the Assembly Food Hall. Walk around the outdoor plaza and grab some Nashville Hot Chicken at Hattie B's! Fifth + Broadway takes us way back, as this is where Pete and I came to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July the very first time he came to visit Nashville.
A half-mile long stretch along 12th Avenue South is a shopping and dining neighborhood full of coffee houses, restaurants, bars, bakeries, and boutiques run by local, small business. Some of our favorite spots in this area are the Frothy Monkey for coffee, Urban Grub, Edley's BBQ, bartaco, Mafiozas Pizza, and Buttermilk Ranch. If you have a sweet tooth... swing into Five Daughters bakery for the best donut you'll ever have!
Historic Downtown Franklin has over 70 unique shops and restaurants, including antique and art galleries, gift shops, bookstores and boutiques. Approximately 20 miles south of Nashville if you're looking to spend the day outside of the city. Shop around and grab a bite at Puckett's restaurant!
If you're wanting to stay in the area where all of the wedding festivities are taking place, we recommend taking a stroll around Vanderbilt University's campus or Centennial Park surrounding the Parthenon (Don’t go in! Save that for the reception!). Bricktops, Pancake Pantry, SATco, and Biscuit Love are great spots to grab a bite in this area.
