Von's is Amanda's favorite restaurant in Seattle! If you like sourdough and a poppin' happy hour, you should check it out. This ties for the best mac and cheese in town (personal opinion) - they make the noodles in house and use Beecher's cheese from down the street! Local as local can get.
Amanda also recommends the burrata appetizer, the apple wood blasted broccoli, and the king salmon burger.
Bonus: Von's is only a 15 minute walk from the Marriott!!
Fogon is Jake's favorite restaurant in Seattle! This one is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, where Jake and Amanda used to live, and is actually where they had their first date.
Jake recommends a double order of the chicken street tacos, Amanda recommends the enchiladas de mariscos, and they both recommend the ultimate margarita.
Want to recreate the first date? Go around the corner for some ice cream at Salt and Straw after your meal!
Lobster Mobster chowder is all you need to know here. But they have other star dishes as well!
A fast track to hitting Seattle's hot spots! Seattle Center is where you can find the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Pacific Science Center and the Museum of Pop Culture.
Seattle Center is a 20 minute walk from the Marriott.
Seattle's most well-known feature, Pike Place is a great place to spend a few hours exploring, tasting, and shopping. Don't limit yourself to the waterfront - we encourage you to go deep into the depths of the market and see what makes Pike Place so unique.
Check the calendar! Maybe you can catch a show at the Showbox - one of Jake and Amanda's favorite concert venues.
Bonus points if you can find and attend a show/meal at the Can Can Culinary Cabaret!
The piers have even more to see and do!
- Pier 59 is the Seattle Aquarium! Recently revamped with a brand new Ocean Pavilion - this is a great spot to learn about the marine life in the Pacific Northwest.
- Pier 57 you can find the Seattle Great Wheel, our very own Wings over Washington amusement park ride, and Salish Sea Tours.
- Pier 55 has Argosy cruises (Orca sightings, anyone?).
- Pier 54 you can visit Ye Olde Curiosity Shop.
This is the perfect place to learn about the history and innovation of Seattle and the Puget Sound area! Did you know Seattle used to be 12 feet below where the streets currently are? You can learn about it at the MOHAI!
Curious about Seattle-themed mini golf? Ever heard of Duffleboard? Enjoy some locally brewed beer, cocktails, and ciders, and test your hand and these fun games! They also have pizza!
One of Amanda's favorite neighborhood parks to read in the sun, but also home to a beautiful botanical garden!
Right off the Burke Gilman Trail, Gas Works part has some great views of Lake Union and downtown Seattle. And the new Gas Works Brewery is a hit, too!
For our aviation enthusiasts - this one is a bit of a drive but is super worth it!
For aviation enthusiasts and laymen alike, this is sure to entertain. Take a tour of the Boeing factory and learn some fun words like "fuselage!"
