Do's
- Use small bags/ purses/backpacks (wear in the front of you when in large crowds)
- Try out all the fruits after cleaning them properly.
- Eat arepas, empanadas, grilled corn, almojabanas, some freshly baked bread. 
- Buy some sweets (panelitas are my vice) 
-Drink hot cocoa with cheese (Dunk the cheese inside the chocolate and eat it with a spoon. Don't knock it until you try it). 
-Drink Coffee daily! 
- Only carry one credit card at a time leave the rest somewhere safe in your hotel. Also, only carry the amount of cash you are going to need for the day. I usually don't carry more than $250,000 pesos and that's still overkill for most of what you would want to buy. 
-Be polite and not slam the ubers car door. 


Don't
- Use flashy clothes, jewelry, shoes. 
- Hail a cab from the street, they will hear your accent and rip you off. UBER is your friend. 
- Go out on your own at night. 
- Forget to drink a ton of water (bottled, never from the tap).  
-Use your smart PHONE in public or in cars when traffic is around (these are hot targets)
-Carry large amounts of cash
-Make jokes about drug wars, the political climate, or the
coffee (Colombia grows some of the world's finest coffee, most of which is exported not sold locally
