Ours lives came together when we met in the first year of medical school in Yakima, WA. Kevin grew up in Lake Tapps, WA and Amanda is from Dudley, MA. Amanda moved from the east coast all the way to the west coast for medical school in Washington. Little did they know they would wind up spending two years for medical school living just two houses apart. Luckily for us, we naturally acquired the same friend group, calling ourselves Four Back as we sat all in the fourth row from the back in the lecture hall. Also, a four back or a flat back four is a classic defensive soccer formation which we both enjoy. After classes, we both enjoyed bike rides, runs up in the hills, trips to the brewery, playing soccer, and making pizza with friends. We remained good friends for over a year until friends became more and we haven't looked back. As it came time to transition into the clinical portion of our third year in medical school, Amanda headed far north to the breath taking Alaska and Kevin returned home to western Washington. As we exchanged trips from Alaska to Washington, Kevin even did a 13 week rotation in Alaska to spend more time with Amanda and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. In March 2021, we found out we both would be headed together to Muskegon, MI to continue our careers. Although we never pictured Michigan to be the location of our first house, we sure have made this our first home. We still have our bunnies Rubin and Helen, and our new pet additions of Penny our runner dog, and two playful cats, Stanley, and Norman. In August, Kevin took Amanda on a fishing trip to a private beach on Muskegon Lake, the inlet to Lake Michigan. Here he surprised her with a ring and a commitment to a life full of laughs, adventures, and exploring the unknown. And why not get married just 6 months later in Chicago, IL with two families on opposite coasts? We can't wait to join two great families and officially start our lives together on March 26, 2022!!
