Can I bring my kiddos?
Yes of course, Wandering Oaks is an open air venue with lots of space for the little ones to run around.
Have you blocked rooms anywhere specific?
Yes! We’ve secured a block of rooms at both the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites in Sarasota. Please take a look at the 'Travel' tab for more information on locations and pricing. To take advantage of the group discount you must book your room(s) before February 1st, 2022.
Will you be providing transportation?
We will be providing a trolley or motorcoach to transport guests both to and from the Hampton Inn and Suites at Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch. If you're not staying at the hotel, and would still like to make use of this service, please shoot us a message and we'll make sure you're accounted for.
Is there parking at the ceremony/reception venue?
There will be parking in an open field at the front of the property. For our guests with mobility concerns, please take the first right after going through the gate and drop-off at the sidewalk leading up to the barn prior to parking.
What should I wear?
While this will not be a black tie affair, feel free to get as dressy or smart-casual as you like. The ceremony will be held outside under a sea of ancient oak trees while the reception will be held at the same location in a rustic barn so wear whatever makes you most comfortable.
What's the food situation?
We will have a build-your-own taco (or taco bowl) bar catered by Screaming Goat Taqueria. There will be options for every palate (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, low-carb etc.) so no matter your dietary preference, you can still enjoy a meal with us!
Should I bring a gift?
Your attendance is more than we could ask for as we realize this venue is not necessarily close to any of us. For that reason, we urge guests not to bring items to the venue as it would be difficult to transport everything after the event. For guests who feel strongly about sending a gift, more details can be found in the 'Registry' tab in the days to come.
What should I do with my extra time?
While the wedding itself will be in Myakka City, we are inviting our wedding party and guests to stay in the Sarasota area. Fun places to visit in the area include Siesta, Lido and Longboat Key Beaches, TreeUmph! Adventure Course, Sarasota Art Museum and Downtown Sarasota.
