Ceremony & Reception

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin at 5:00 sharp so please arrive no later than 4:45pm. Depending on where you are staying, the Desert Museum can be a bit of a drive so plan accordingly.

Where should I park at the Desert Museum?

There will be special event parking reserved just for you! Take the exit for the Desert Museum and following the signs that lead you to the special event parking lot. There will be plenty of space.

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

You don't have to go anywhere! The ceremony and reception will both occur at the Desert Museum and docents (or Amber's nephews) will guide you from location to location.

Will I get to explore the Museum?

The ceremony and reception take place during the off hours for the museum, so the majority of the museum will not be open to guests during the evening. The animals need their beauty sleep! However, you will be invited to return to the Desert Museum and explore its charms on Sunday! If you are interested in taking advantage of this, make sure to select you are interested in attending the Sunday Museum Visit when you RSVP.

What should I expect during the event?

We are starting the ceremony at 5:15pm. After a short, but very sweet ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour (5:30-6:30) serving hors d'oeuvres. During the cocktail hour, the desert museum will provide animal demonstrations for the guests, so get ready to make animal friends! After the cocktail hour, you will be guided to the reception space where the bridal party will rejoin the festivities (7:00pm) and we will eat and dance until the Desert Museum kicks us out (10:00pm).

What kind of food and beverages will be served?

Food is provided by the exclusive caterer for the Desert Museum (Craft Culinary Concepts). Vegetarian options will be available! If you have any dietary restrictions, please include them in the RSVP form and we will confirm with the caterers which food items are available for your consumption. We are hosting an open bar with specialty cocktails (like a prickly pear margarita) for the evening and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks such as prickly pear lemonade, soft drinks, and iced tea.

Dress Code & Invitations

Am I allowed to bring a "Plus one"?

Only named guests on the invitation can attend. We appreciate your understanding!

Is there a dress code?

The dress for this wedding is formal, but we encourage you to bring comfy shoes! The majority of the event will be in paved outdoor areas or partially outdoor spaces. There will also be a small amount of walking between each of the wedding locations, so wear something you can walk in and dance the night away in.

Transportation

Will there be a shuttle to the event?

Unfortuantely we cannot provide transportation to the event, but there will be plenty of parking for you to bring your own car (owned or rented). For those who are expecting to partake in the revelry, we encourage guests to carpool or use rideshare services (Uber and Lyft) so they can get around safely!

Where is the desert museum?

The Desert Museum is west of Tucson, just south of Saguaro West National Park. It is approximately a 30-45 minute drive from downtown Tucson, so give yourself plenty of driving time. Tucson is notorious for taking longer than expected to get places.
