We met volunteering at an event for improving the lives of young native people back in 2010!

Kate and Amber met up for a nightcap after one of her fancy events and mentioned that Nelson cleaned up nice! After a couple bourbon drinks and ridiculous texts, Nelson was on his way in his suit to meet us at the neighborhood dive bar.

We went for a hike on Hahei Beach to Te Pare Point! Once we got to the top I started to get our summit drinks ready. Nelson had disappeared and I assumed nature was calling. Little did I know he was rushing to make sure the coast was clear! He rushed down to me and gets down on one knee. I thought he was falling so I go to grab him as the warning signs tell us if you fall off the cliff you will die. Then I realized he was proposing and immediately froze. He asked if I could stand up and take my sunglasses off. He said that he would like to walk through life together when our steps are fast and even when they get slow and presented a beautiful ring. I started to excitedly tell him “I do! I do!”
