What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
We kindly ask that you are seated at the church no later than 2:45pm (15 minutes prior to the ceremony start). This is when the choir will begin performing - which you don't want to miss!! Old Saint Pat's is a very special (read: strict) church, so we will be starting down the aisle exactly at 3pm!
What does black tie optional look like in the summer?
Great question! We are excited for a formal affair. For men, a tuxedo is preferred, but a dark suit with a tie is also appropriate. For the ladies, a colorful, formal, floor length gown is preferred. When in doubt, be overdressed! We put together a pinterest with some outfit inspiration for you! https://pin.it/2IgPQEaSr
Are kids invited?
We adore your little ones, but to ensure all of our guests can enjoy a relaxing and celebratory evening, we kindly ask that our reception be an adults-only affair, with the exception of immediate family.
However, we are thrilled to welcome all children of our family and friends to join us at the Cubs game, the Welcome Reception, the wedding ceremony at the church, and our Farewell Brunch, where they can celebrate and create special memories with us!
We recommend care.com or Adina’s Nanny Network in Chicagoland (facebook group) for babysitting needs. If you have any questions or need help coordinating childcare, please reach out to the bride or groom directly!
Do I get a plus one?
Due to space limitations at our venue, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally addressed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding! If your invitation includes a plus-one, we kindly ask that you RSVP with your guest's name.
Theres a long gap between the ceremony and cocktail hour. What am I supposed to do?
Ah, the Catholic Gap!! There are tons of ways to spend two hours in Chicago between the Church and the Planetarium. You can either pass the time at a bar nearby (read: Duffys) or check out our list under the Things to Do Section.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There are several concerts happening in the Museum campus area on our wedding day. We encourage you to leave plenty of extra time before the cocktail hour for you to transport to Adler Planetarium.
What's the best way to get around Chicago?
Both Eric and Amelia can often be found navigating the city on shared bikes/scooters (Divvy in Chicago) that you can find at stations or scattered throughout the city!
For more traditional transportation, we highly recommend using Uber or Lyft to get around. For schedule-ahead taxis, the app "Curb" is great, too!
What is the parking situation at the church?
The church has a parking garage across the street with free parking for OSP guests, located at 625 W Adams. If the gate is down, pull a complimentary ticket from the Old Saint Pats branded parking box.
What is the parking situation at Adler Planetarium?
There is a large concert taking place at Soldier Field (next to Adler!) the night of our reception, which means that we cannot provide any mass transportation to/from our reception at Adler. We STRONGLY encourage all of our guests to leverage ride shares like Uber/Lyft to get to and from our reception.
Self-parking is available for guests who wish to drive. The address is 1300 S. Linn White Drive Chicago, IL. Guests should let the attendant know they are there for Amelia Bauer & Eric Zmuda’s wedding at Adler Planetarium. Guests will pay when they enter the lot, and the cost is $42/car. If you have any questions about parking, please reach out to Melissa Martin, MMartin@soldierfield.net / (312)771-2046.
What if I get stopped by CPD on my way to the parking lot?
You can show them this image to prove that you are a part of the Bauer/Zmuda wedding party!
How do I get my Cubs tickets?
If you RSVP'd for the Cubs game, your tickets were emailed on June 8th to the email provided. Please check your spam first, but if you are having trouble, reach out to Terri Zmuda (Eric's mom) at 419-340-8681
Who should I reach out to if my question is not on here/not answered?
Please text Amelia (630-661-6217) or Eric ( 419-344-1407) if you have any other questions. Don't be shy - someone else may be wondering the same thing, and this way we can update our website for others. Thanks!
