A beautiful place for a leisurely walk with waterfront cafes, boat tours, and picturesque views of the city’s iconic architecture. If it has been a while since your last trip to Chicago, the river walk has expanded significantly in the last few years and is definitely worth a visit! Great people (and boat) watching. We spend a lot of time taking Reese on walks along the Riverwalk! If you need a specific location along the Riverwalk, Tiny Tapp is a good place to start.
West Loop/Fulton Market
Right in Amelia's backyard, West Loop (Randolph St) and Fulton Market (Fulton St) are known for some of Chicago’s best restaurants. This area is a foodie haven with top-rated spots for brunch, dinner, and cocktails. During the summer, parts of Fulton Market are typically blocked off for walking and wandering until you find a place to enjoy! Some top spots of ours: Au Cheval (burgers), Levain (bakery), Velvet Tacos (a MUST), Bar La Rue (cocktails) and Time Out Market (a little taste of everything in Chicago!)
Enjoy a scenic walk, run, or bike ride along Lake Michigan with fantastic views of the skyline and waterfront. One starting point is Grant Park - Known as “Chicago’s front yard,” Grant Park is home to Buckingham Fountain, one of the largest in the world.
The Bean! A must-do for first time visitors to Chicago, perfect for mirror selfies and a nice stroll through the park.
