Amelia and Dan met at the start of their Senior year of college at West Virginia University (Go Mountaineers!). Dan was working on a project with Amelia's roommate and best-friend, Autumn. Their apartment was the dedicated hangout spot, and so inevitably, Dan ended up at their place, which is where he laid eyes on Amelia for the very first time. They clicked immediately, and instantly became good friends. After several months of group hangs, jam sessions, spontaneous adventures, shared meals, and mutual affection, Dan asked Amelia to be his girlfriend. The timing was unfortunate, as two months later, they both graduated and went back home...
They spent the next two years of their relationship doing long-distance, while Amelia spent time between Annapolis, MD and Jamestown, NY finishing up her degree and looking for a job. They enjoyed many weekend adventures together on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis and meeting half-way between Pittsburgh and Jamestown in Grove City. Even miles apart, their relationship grew stronger as they created countless memories together.
Finally, Amelia’s job offer came through, and she moved to Pittsburgh—cue the celebration! Living just down the street from each other for the first time since college felt like a dream. They settled into everyday life together, spending evenings exploring the neighborhood, sharing countless meals, and discovering a shared love for pickleball that quickly became a regular (and slightly competitive) activity. They also found their home church, and with it, their community of friends to do life with.
Their time together in Pittsburgh showed them how much better life was when they were doing it together. Whether it be preparing a meal, going for morning walks, or laughing together about one of their many inside jokes, they both knew they had found their person. Dan and Amelia can't wait to move into the next chapter and become husband and wife <3
