If you are planning to travel to other countries in the UK, either before or after our wedding, travelers who have previously not needed a visa will be required to apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before departing for the UK.
If you are flying directly to Dublin,
(with no touchdown/connection in any other country)
none of this is needed for the wedding,
which is in the Republic of Ireland.
ETA (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland)
ETA is needed even if you are just touching down in the UK with a connecting flight going on to Ireland.
As a tip when doing this, once you download the app you just click through and answer questions, but I read that people were having a real difficulty when it asks if your card has a chip and they said yes, and then had a problem with their cameras reading the chip. So I did some research and people said "say no" when asking about the chip and continue. That's what I did and I had no problem.

Additionally, for those planning to travel to countries in the Schengen Zone, either before or after the wedding, please check for requirements regarding ETIAS, which is set to start mid-2025. As of now it isn't needed, but could be by May.
