Q + A

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, weather permitting. Walking on some grass will be required. (Ladies, think block heels!)

What should I wear?

Formal Attire. We suggest that men wear a suit in any color and women wear a midi/long dress.

Is there parking available near your wedding venue(s)?

There is public street parking available, however the ceremony location is typically a short walk from most La Jolla hotels in town. Uber is also encouraged!

Are children welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening.

Can I bring an additional guest?

Because we have limited space, we are unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those listed on your invitation.

Do you have any recommendations for where to eat, points of interest or things to do?

Yes! We recommend visiting the ‘Things to Do’ page of our wedding website, where we’ve compiled all of our favorite local hot spots and fun things to do in the area, including coffee shops, activities and restaurants to visit before or after the wedding.

Should we bring our gift to the wedding?

We kindly ask that you send any gifts to our address on file.

Where should we stay?

The bride and groom are staying at the centrally located Empress Hotel, where there is a room block. However, there are plenty of options in the area! See our "Travel" section.

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

Our reception at the Cuvier Club is about one block from the La Jolla Historical Society, so we recommend walking! Our wonderful wedding planner will point you in the right direction once the ceremony has ended. (If you need special transportation accommodations, please reach out to Amy or Brent directly.)

What should I expect after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, guests will move to a cocktail hour before dinner is served, with dancing to follow. The event will conclude by 10:00 PM per city regulations.

How do I RSVP?

After you receive a formal invitation, you will be able to RSVP online using the designated tab on our website.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Of course! However, we ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony itself. The photographer will capture the moment; we want to look out at and see the faces of the people supporting us.
