When should I RSVP by?
Traveling to Italy may not be an option for you, and that's totally ok! Please let us know if you will be able to come by March 5th via the wedding website RSVP feature.
Booking my trip sounds daunting. Where do I start?
We have secured a travel agent to help you with your travel needs, if desired. You may reach out to D'Luca Luxury Travel for assistance with booking your stay, flights, car rental or anything you may need for your travel (no planning fee!).

Do I need a Passport?
Yes!
If you do not have a passport or need to get yours renewed, the earlier the better. There have been processing delays, so we encourage you to take action as soon as possible. Italy requires your passport to be valid for at least six months when you enter the country, so please make sure to renew your passport if it will expire in November 2025 or earlier. We also recommend keeping your passport in a safe place until the wedding (it really is your most valuable item for the trip; yes, even more than your wedding outfit!).
UPDATE: As of February 2025 the Visa system is not in place and is anticipated to start 'mid-year 2025'. We are monitoring this requirement but it does not seem like it will be needed by the wedding.
Electronic Travel Visas will be required to enter Europe starting May 2025.
So, what exactly is this new travel requirement? The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will require all U.S. citizens traveling to Italy (or any of the 27 Schengen countries) to obtain authorization for trips under 90 days. ETIAS is an electronic system that allows visa-free travel for visitors from countries that don’t need a visa to enter the EU.
The application isn’t open yet, but when it’s available, applicants will fill out an online application and pay a small fee of € 7. You’ll need to share personal information like your date of birth, parent’s names, and details about your current occupation and previous criminal convictions. You’ll also need to provide a valid passport.
ETIAS says the application will be processed in seconds, and the decision will be sent to the applicant within four days. However, that could be longer if you’re asked for additional information or the application is denied, and you must appeal. To play it safe, apply at least a month in advance, if not longer.
When should I arrive in Amalfi?
We recommend arriving by May 27th. The welcome dinner will be on the 28th and the wedding is on the 29th.
What time is the celebration over?
11:45 PM
How can I get to the venue?
If you stay in the town of Amalfi (highly recommend) then we will have a shuttle for you from the town to the wedding venue, Hotel Santa Caterina.
The venue is a 20 minute walk from the town of Amalfi but is extremely uphill and cliffside.
Is there a dress code?
Attire is Semi-Formal for the welcome dinner and Black-Tie Optional for the wedding ceremony and reception. Please review the Attire page for reference photos. Ladies - let's see all your bright colors and prints!
Should we rent a car?
Driving and parking can be difficult on the coast. We recommend that you do not unless you are familiar with driving in this type of terrain.
What will the weather be like?
The average temperature for late May in Amalfi is 61-83 degrees. I recommend looking at the weather a couple weeks in advance to see if the weather is looking typical for their average or not.
Will transportation be provided to the events?
There will not be transportation provided to the welcome dinner as it will be at a restaurant in the town of Amalfi. For the wedding, we will have a shuttle service from Amalfi to the hotel and back.
Do I need to get euros in cash?
Yes! Many places and taxis in Amalfi only take cash.
What if I don't speak Italian?
No worries! Amalfi is home to thousands of tourists every year, so many of the locals speak English. Below is a cheat sheet of some phrases that may come in handy while you're in Italy:
Hi/Hello: Ciao! (pronounced "chow")
How are you?: "Come vai"
My name is: "Mi chiamo" (pronounced "me kee-ya-mo")
Please: "Por favore"
Thank you: "Grazie"
You're welcome: "Prego"
Good evening: "Buona sera"
Good night: "Buona notte"
More wine please: "Piu vino per favore"
What is the timeline?
Arrive at the hotel at 5:15 pm for pre ceremony welcome drinks. The ceremony will begin at 6 pm. There will be a cocktail hour followed by a sit down dinner and then dancing. Wedding will end at 11:45 pm.
