We met in September of 2022. Amy had just started coaching her Elite League team and Travis quickly realized in order to see her he would have to come watch the games she was coaching. When we weren't at the rink, we spent any time we could on Travis' boat and Motorcycle... depending on the weather of course. Amy quickly fell in love joining Travis on his bike and boat, and Travis fell in love with the game of hockey and watching Amy coach. Amy even bought Travis clickers for their first Christmas so he could get his own shot count in the games.

The fall hockey season wrapped up and the winter season came along. Travis spent a lot of time getting to know the families in the stands while Amy was on the bench with the team. We spent a lot of time with these families at the rink, on the road at tournaments, and at many team activities. We loved every second of it, and gained a lot of lifelong friends in the process.

A couple of the moms would hint to Travis to propose to Amy in front of the team. When the time came, Travis knew he would have the perfect team to help execute his proposal.

The plan was for the team to have an end of the year family fun skate. It turned out to be a players versus coaches+Travis skate. The coaches+Travis had six people on their bench, and the skaters had 14. We were playing 4 v 4 so the coaches were definitely feeling the lack of skaters on their bench. After about 30 minutes one of the coaches kept telling Travis he needed to get things going, because he didn't know how much more he could take. The game was cut short by some of the hockey moms getting on the microphone in the penalty box and summoning everyone over to give Amy a gift.

Amy started opening the gift as the girls crowded around her. The gift was a huge box that was full of a bunch of tissue scraps with a card. Amy opened the card to see "Turn Around" written on it. Amy turned around to see Travis standing, and he told her she needed to stand up for this part. Travis got on one knee as he asked her to be his forever teammate and gave her the ring! Obviously she said YES!
