Dane and Amy met on Hinge during the height of COVID-19 in April of 2020. Both knew early on that their connection was something special. The two shared the same sense of humor, held equal family values, and had dreams of building a successful future for themselves. After two months of texting every day and sharing a few facetime calls, Dane and Amy finally met in person for their first date in June of 2020. They enjoyed an outdoor picnic which included only the finest foods: chicken nuggets and red wine.

Dane and Amy made it official in July of 2020, and began the journey of falling in love. They got to know each other’s family and friends, inspired one another to make leaps in their careers, and even planned their first vacation together to Fort Lauderdale, FL for the Spring of 2021.

Soon after they started dating, Dane began to capture the hearts of Amy’s family cats, Leo and Luna. (They could sense he was a keeper!) Dane grew up with a dog, but it didn’t take long for Amy to transform him into a full-blown cat lover. She was lucky enough to have some added help from Dane’s twin brother, Justin, and his wife Ashley, who have two adorable cats of their own.

Just one year after moving into his apartment in Bloomfield, NJ, Dane adopted his first cat, a sweet brown tabby named Bean. As Dane worked from home full time, the two quickly bonded, enjoying spending every day together. However, Bean wouldn’t have Dane all to herself for long, because just one month after her adoption, Amy moved in with Dane and his roommates.

Moving in together was easily the best decision they ever made, and the two immediately got to work making their space feel like a home. However, it wasn’t long before Dane and Amy realized they wanted a place to call their own. So, after a year of fun-filled memories, Dane and Amy said good-bye to life with roommates and moved into an apartment made for two in August of 2022.

Together, Dane and Amy built up their new space and couldn’t imagine how life could get any better. They thought they had everything they wanted, but quickly realized something was missing…Once Dane started commuting to work again, Bean was left alone for a handful of days during the week. It was clear she needed someone to keep her company, so the hunt for cat #2 went underway.

In November of 2022, Amy’s mom began fostering a litter of three kittens, 2 girls and 1 adorable little boy. The only male of the bunch was another tabby, who had tiny white paws and a face that resembled Bean’s. Dane and Amy fell in love with him right away, and after a bit of brainstorming, they came up with the perfect name: Duncan! And don’t worry, both of Duncan’s sisters got adopted as well, by none other than Amy’s two sisters, Christina and Cathy!

Now that their little family felt complete, there was only one thing left to do…Dane and Amy planned their second vacation to Fort Lauderdale for September of 2023. This destination already held sentimental value; It was the place they took their first vacation together as a couple! However, this tropical getaway would soon transform into a core memory.

On Friday, September 9th, 2023 Dane and Amy walked onto the beach to take photos and enjoy the beautiful sunset together. After a few selfies and some time spent gazing at the horizon, Dane got down on one knee and asked Amy to marry him. She happily said yes and shed a few tears, loving the feeling of a ring on her finger and the meaning it possessed.

The newly engaged couple received congrats and cheers from strangers on the beach who’d witnessed the proposal, and quickly shared the news with family and friends before heading off to a celebratory dinner at the Four Seasons. With some excellent champagne courtesy of Amy’s parents (thanks Mom and Dad!) Dane and Amy toasted to the next chapter of their lives as future husband and wife.

Dane and Amy will be married on May 17th, 2025 at Hackensack Golf Club surrounded by beloved family and friends.
