We want you to have the best experience in Ana's hometown. Here are some tips and tricks to help you out. Feel free to reach out to Ana or Max with any further questions.
Barcelona has many amazing spots. For convenience, accessibility to restaurants and sites, as well as safety, we would particularly recommend Gracia, Eixample, Barceloneta, Borne, Gothic Quarter and Vila Olimpica. Ana's family lives in the last one. Plaça de Catalunya is the city center. Perhaps avoid Poble Sec and Raval.
Feel free to reach out to Ana if you'd like her advice on where you are looking to book.
You can purchase a travel card that will work for metro, tram and buses. These can be bought at metro and tram stops and kiosks. You can also use your bank card to tap. Cash is no longer accepted. You can access the metro map here.
Alternatively, you can book a taxi via Uber or simply stop them as they drive by when they have the green light on. They are always black and yellow as per this image here.
When travelling, having access to calls, and Google Maps can be life saving and make your trip easier. Ana usually purchases a pre-paid Sim card from this company here.
Spanish food is simply delicious. We eat tapas, paella but we also have amazing fish, meats and other dishes. Our cuisine is very diverse and changes across the country as we use local produce.
