Our Wedding

Our story began with a simple match on a dating application called Coffee Meets Bagel that changed everything. What was supposed to be a casual first date at Dhaba quickly turned into hours of talking, sharing Indian food, and realizing how easy it felt to be together. We wandered to La Lanterna di Vittorio for a bottle of wine, tucked into a cozy corner while the city hummed around us, and somewhere between laughs and candlelight, we felt the spark of something unmistakable.From that night on, our lives began to entwine in the most natural way. We explored the world together one neighborhood, one restaurant, and one adventure at a time. We became regulars in Astoria, hunted down soups, sushi, pizza, and tacos in just about every borough. Our love grew through many international adventures to Lake Como, Transylvania, Cartagena, Quebec, Charleston, Napa, and wherever else our curiosity carried us. But no matter how far we traveled, we always found our way back to each other and to the little routines that make life sweet: cooking together, reading side by side, hiking, singing, playing video games, dreaming big dreams, and taking long walks for no reason at all.The proposal took place on a day that felt like a little piece of magic. On December 21, 2024, James’s birthday and the shortest day of the year, New York received its first snowfall in ages. He asked Anda to take a walk through Astoria Park, a place filled with memories and meaning. Under drifting snowflakes, at our favorite bench, James pulled out a ring he had designed himself and began reciting a love poem he had memorized in Romanian. Anda said yes through tears and laughter as snow softened the whole world around us.We describe each other in ways that still make us smile. Anda says James is kind, spirited, and funny, the person who brings joy and steadiness to every moment. James says Anda is sassy, warm, and bright, the person who brings color and light to every corner of his life. Together we are playful and curious and endlessly excited about the world. We love food, travel, music, art, time with family, long massages, kayaking, dancing, and discovering new things side by side. Above all, we love building a life that feels full, joyful, and uniquely ours.As we look forward to our wedding, we imagine a celebration wrapped in nature, filled with trees and twinkling lights, touches of Romanian, French, and Californian influence, wildflowers everywhere, music that makes everyone dance, and food that brings people together. We want the day to feel warm and welcoming, beautiful and fun, elegant but never stuffy, a gathering where laughter rings bright and everyone feels part of the story.Thank you for being part of our lives and our journey. We cannot wait to celebrate with you and begin the next chapter, hand in hand, heart to heart, ready for all the adventures still to come.

The Hampton Inn is our primary hotel! We’ve reserved a block of rooms to make your stay comfortable and convenient. You can use the link or call the hotel directly and mention the Erwin/Totoreanu wedding to receive the group rate. The block is reserved for both Friday and Saturday night, however you are not required to book both nights. We recommend booking early, as rooms are limited. We will also be providing a shuttle service from this hotel the day of the wedding, please check back for more shuttle info as we get closer. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Great if you want to get outside. There are easy walks, more serious hikes, pretty lake views, and spots to just sit and relax. A perfect little nature break.

If you love quiet trails and peaceful scenery, this is the place. Lots of woods, lakes, and space to explore at your own pace.

A cozy farm-to-table restaurant and market where everything tastes fresh and seasonal. Great for brunch, lunch, or a relaxed meal with beautiful views.
